Lonnie Teasley is in his first season on the Nebraska coaching staff in 2026. He brings more than 15 years of experience to the Husker staff, including coaching stints in the SEC and the National Football League.
Before Nebraska, Teasley spent the previous five seasons at South Carolina, where the Gamecocks earned a final top-25 ranking in two of his four seasons coaching the offensive line. Teasley’s lines displayed the ability to both run and pass block as South Carolina ranked 35th nationally in rushing in 2024, one year after the Gamecocks were 23rd nationally in passing in 2023.
Teasley also spent two seasons on the offensive staff of the Baltimore Ravens. He worked with the Raven’s offensive line and had two offensive linemen combine for three Pro Bowl selections in his two seasons on staff.
BEFORE NEBRASKA
SOUTH CAROLINA: Teasley spent five successful seasons at South Carolina from 2021 to 2025. He began his tenure with the Gamecocks as an offensive analyst in 2021 and 2022 before being elevated to an assistant coaching role as the offensive line coach from 2023 to 2025. Teasley’s lines displayed the ability to both run and pass block as South Carolina ranked 35th nationally in rushing in 2024, one year after the Gamecocks were 23rd nationally in passing in 2023.
South Carolina averaged more than 400 yards of offense per game in 2024, a first for the program in 10 years. Right guard Torricelli Simpkins III was an All-SEC selection while left tackle Josiah Thompson was a true freshman All-American. In 2023, the line dealt with a rash of injuries, but Teasley was able to develop Trovon Baugh into earning a spot on the Freshman All-SEC team.
In 2022, Teasley served as an offensive analyst but took over on-field coaching duties with the offensive line early in the season. The Gamecocks won eight games and finished the year ranked in the top 25 while posting the third-most passing yards in school history, the fourth-most points and the sixth-most total yards. Jovaughn Gwyn was an All-SEC selection and an NFL Draft pick. In his first season on staff in 2021, Teasley helped South Carolina to a 7-6 record and a bowl victory.
NORTH CAROLINA CENTRAL: Teasley coached the offensive line at North Carolina Central for two seasons in 2019 and 2020. In 2019, Andrew Dale was an all-conference offensive lineman. North Carolina Central did not play during the 2020-21 season due to Covid.
ARKANSAS-PINE BLUFF: Teasley spent the 2018 season as the offensive line coach at Arkansas-Pine Bluff. His line excelled at protecting the passer, leading the conference and ranking 13th in the FCS in fewest sacks allowed. Two of his linemen were named to the all-conference first or second team.
TENNESSEE TECH: Teasley coached the Tennessee Tech offensive line for one season in 2017. That season Teasley coached under Marcus Satterfield, who was the Golden Eagles’ head coach.
BALTIMORE RAVENS: Teasley coached in the National Football League for two seasons with the Baltimore Ravens in 2015 and 2016. He was an offensive staff assistant working with the Ravens’ offensive line. Teasley worked with two Pro Bowl offensive linemen during his time in Baltimore.
TEMPLE: Teasley was previously on Matt Rhule’s Temple staff in 2014. He served as an assistant offensive line coach, and the Owls posted their first ranked win in 16 seasons and first victory over an SEC opponent since 1938.
DELAWARE STATE: Teasley spent three seasons at Delaware State from 2011 to 2013. He coached the linebackers in 2013 after serving as a graduate assistant coaching the tight ends in 2011 and 2012. In his lone season as linebackers coach, the Hornets ranked 28th in the FCS in first down defense and 35th in tackles for loss. Teasley’s tight ends helped Delaware State rank 25th in the FCS in passing in 2012.
BRUNSWICK (GA.) HIGH SCHOOL: Teasley began his career as an assistant football coach and special education teacher at Brunswick High School in Georgia.
PLAYING CAREER
Teasley was an offensive lineman at Hofstra before finishing his career at Winston-Salem State.
PERSONAL
Teasley earned his degree in liberal arts from Winston-Salem State University in 2008. He and his wife, Carma, have three daughters, Elizabeth, Ava and Olivia.
