Geep Wade joined the Nebraska staff as the Huskers’ offensive line coach following the 2025 regular season. He will make his NU coaching debut in the Las Vegas Bowl.
Wade is in his 22nd season of coaching in 2025. Before Nebraska, Wade coached the Georgia Tech offensive line from 2023 to 2025. His offensive line was dominant at both run blocking and pass blocking during his three seasons at Georgia Tech. From 2023-25, the Yellow Jackets ranked seventh nationally in fewest sacks allowed, ninth nationally in yards per carry and 13th in rushing yards per game.
Wade is also a proven developer of offensive linemen. In 11 seasons as a full-time FBS offensive line coach, Wade has seen his linemen combine for 23 all-conference awards.
BEFORE NEBRASKA
GEORGIA TECH: Wade coached the offensive line at Georgia Tech for three seasons from 2023 to 2025. The Yellow Jacket offensive line was among the nation’s best run-blocking and pass-blocking units during Wade’s time at the school.
Over his three seasons combined (2023-25), the Yellow Jackets ranked seventh nationally in sacks allowed (1.0 per game), ninth in rushing yards per carry (5.3) and 13th in rushing yards per game (197.8). Georgia Tech ranked third among Power Four programs in rushing yards per game during Wade’s three seasons.
Georgia Tech ranked in the top 15 nationally in sacks allowed in each of Wade’s three seasons coaching the offensive line and twice were ranked in the top five. The Yellow Jackets also ranked in the top 30 nationally in yards per carry every season during Wade’s tenure, including two seasons inside the top 15.
Individually, Wade’s offensive linemen combined for nine all-conference awards and one first-team All-America accolade in his three seasons.
In 2025, Wade’s offensive line paved the way for a Georgia Tech offense that ranked in the top 25 nationally in 10 categories. The Yellow Jackets were fourth nationally in sacks allowed, 11th in rushing yards per carry, 12th in total offense, 19th in rushing and 25th in scoring. Three of Georgia Tech’s starting offensive linemen earned All-ACC recognition, helping quarterback Haynes King become the ACC Offensive Player of the Year.
In 2024, Georgia Tech ranked third nationally in sacks allowed, 30th in yards per carry and 32nd in rushing yards per game. Four of the Yellow Jackets’ five starting linemen earned All-ACC honors, including guard Keylan Rutledge, who was the first Georgia Tech position player to earn first-team All-America honors in 10 years.
Wade’s first season at Georgia Tech was in 2023, when the Yellow Jackets ranked eighth nationally in yards per carry, 12th in rushing yards per game and 15th in sacks allowed. Two of Wade’s linemen were All-ACC selections.
APPALACHIAN STATE: Wade spent the 2022 season as the offensive line coach at Appalachian State. His unit was honored that season as a member of the Joe Moore Award (National Offensive Line of the Year) midseason honor roll. The Mountaineers ranked 21st nationally in rushing offense, 23rd in scoring offense and 26th in total offense during Wade’s lone season at the school. Three of Appalachian State’s starting offensive linemen earned All-Sun Belt Conference honors, including a pair of first-team selections.
GEORGIA SOUTHERN: Wade coached the offensive line at Georgia Southern in 2021. The Eagles ranked 32nd nationally in rushing.
UT MARTIN: Wade coached two different stints at UT Martin. He was the offensive line coach and offensive coordinator in 2018, when UT Martin ranked 11th in the FCS in completion percentage and 24th in passing offense.
Wade also spent four seasons at UT Martin from 2006 to 2009. He was the offensive line coach in each of his four seasons, and Wade served as the offensive coordinator in 2009. Wade was the run game coordinator from 2006 to 2008, when he was on the same offensive staff as Nebraska tight ends coach Marcus Satterfield. In 2006, UT Martin won the Ohio Valley Conference and led the league in scoring. In 2007, UT Martin led the conference in total offense and scoring offense.
EAST CAROLINA: Wade was the offensive line coach at East Carolina for two seasons in 2016 and 2017. In his final season, ECU ranked 12th nationally in passing offense and 17th in sacks allowed. In Wade’s first season, the line helped the Pirates rank sixth nationally in passing and 23rd in total offense.
MIDDLE TENNESSEE: Wade spent three seasons coaching the offensive line at Middle Tennessee from 2013 to 2015. The Blue Raiders had the No. 15 passing offense in 2015 while ranking 11th nationally in completion percentage and 22nd in sacks allowed. That came one season after Wade’s line helped Middle Tennessee rank 30th nationally in rushing. In Wade’s first season in 2013, the Blue Raiders ranked 31st nationally in rushing. Wade’s offensive linemen combined for six all-conference accolades in his three seasons at Middle Tennessee.
MARSHALL: Wade’s first full-time season as an FBS offensive line coach was at Marshall in 2012. The Thundering Herd led the nation that season in passing and ranked seventh in scoring. Three of Wade’s starting offensive linemen were all-conference selections.
CHATTANOOGA: Wade spent two seasons as the offensive line coach and recruiting coordinator at Chattanooga in 2010 and 2011, while Satterfield was the Mocs’ offensive coordinator. In 2010, Chattanooga ranked eighth nationally in passing and 11th in total offense. Wade coached two all-conference linemen in his two seasons at Chattanooga.
Wade also began his coaching career as a restricted earnings coach at Chattanooga in 2002.
MIDWESTERN STATE: Wade spent the 2005 season as the offensive line coach at Midwestern State, an NCAA Division II school in Texas.
TENNESSEE: Wade was a graduate assistant working with the offensive line at Tennessee in 2004, when the Vols went 10-3, played in the SEC Championship and won the Cotton Bowl.
MARS HILL: In 2003, Wade served as the offensive line coach and recruiting coordinator for Mars Hill University, a Division II school in North Carolina.
PLAYING CAREER
Wade was an offensive lineman at Chattanooga from 1999 to 2001, where he served as a team captain.
PERSONAL
Wade earned his degree in business management from Chattanooga in 2022. He and his wife, Amy, have one daughter, Emma Kate and one son, Jackson.
