Dan Miller

Assistant coach Dan Miller completed his sixth season with the Nebraska women's gymnastics program in 2017.

During his sixth season at NU, Miller helped bring the Huskers to yet another NCAA Championships appearance with his guidance to the floor and vault lineups in 2017. He helped guide Sienna Crouse to her first-career All-America award in 2017, as she earned first-team honors on vault. Miller also aided Ashley Lambert on her journey to earning two All-America awards in her senior season, as she garnered second-team honors on both vault and floor exercise. Miller's floor squad posted one of the best showings in school history when it scored a 49.550 at the GymQuarters Invitational, which tied for the fifth-highest score in program history. Taylor Houchin scored a 9.95 at both the GymQuarters Invitational and the Masters Classic, a mark that tied the Nebraska freshman record on the event.

In 2016, Miller helped lead Nebraska to another NCAA Championships appearance, while guiding the vault and floor squads to unprecedented success. Miller helped guide Hollie Blanske to three All-America awards in 2016, including first-team honors on vault and second-team honors on floor exercise and in the all-around. Blanske also won the Big Ten vault championship under Miller's watch, with a 9.975 routine that tied Nebraska's conference championship record.

Miller guided the Husker vault and floor squads to new heights during the 2015 season, helping NU to an eighth-place national finish. Under Miller's leadership, the Huskers set a program record on vault against Penn State with a whopping 49.750 score. In addition, an incredible seven members of NU's deep vault team earned or tied career highs throughout the season. Lambert helped break vaulting records of her own after becoming the first gymnast in program history to earn perfect 10.0s on a single event in back-to-back weeks.

Miller also provided key guidance in the postseason throughout 2015. Blanske earned first-team All-America honors on floor after earning a berth into the event finals, finishing 11th overall at the NCAA Championships. Blanske also grabbed second-team accolades in the all-around, the first of her career. Jessie DeZiel closed out her collegiate career with a bang, taking home first-team honors in the all-around with a sixth-place overall finish and a second-team award on vault. Lambert garnered her first career All-America accolades after a record-setting season, earning second-team honors on floor. Thanks to Miller's leadership, Nebraska spent most of the season among the top-10 on both vault and floor nationally.

Miller guided Nebraska's vault and floor lineups to great success in 2014, aiding NU in compiling a 27-11 overall record. Several Huskers posted career highs on vault and floor, continually setting the bar high all the way into postseason competition. DeZiel captured NACGC/W regular-season All-America honors, while Emily Wong collected her third consecutive All-America award at the NCAA Championships.

Miller helped Nebraska's vault and floor lineups continue to dominate in 2013. At the Big Ten Championships, the Huskers posted four individual vault scores of 9.95 and a team high 49.725, which helped secure them the Big Ten conference title. Miller guided Brittany Skinner to her individual vault appearance at the NCAA Championships, while Wong and DeZiel earned All-America awards on their events.

During his first season at Nebraska in 2012, Miller guided DeZiel to first-team All-America honors on floor and second-team honors on vault. He also assisted in the development of Janelle Giblin, who earned first-team honors on vault, and Wong, who earned second-team honors on floor exercise. Under Miller's tutelage, the Huskers garnered a total of 15 floor titles and 14 vault titles throughout 2012.

Before Nebraska
Before arriving at Nebraska, Miller served as owner and head coach for 12 years at Arena Gymnastics in Joliet, Ill. While at Arena, he coached over 50 Level 10 national qualifiers and 16 national team members. In addition, he guided six gymnasts to Level 10 all-around championships and qualified more than 20 gymnasts to Region 5 All-Star teams. With over 30 years of coaching experience, Miller saw more than 30 athletes receive full-ride scholarships.

In addition to his tenure at Arena, Miller served on the Region 5 Board and as the Region 5 Camp Director for over 10 years. He was honored six times as the Region 5 Junior Olympic Coach of the Year and was awarded the five-and 10-year service award from USA Gymnastics. Miller also served as a coach at Cincinnati Gymnastics for three years.

Personal
Dan and his wife, Beth, have two sons: Brandon and Kyle.
