2015-16 (Senior)
NCAA Championships
Anthony Abidin advanced to the Round of 12 for the second consecutive year before being eliminated. Abidin lost by technical fall to No. 9 seed Rick Durso of Franklin & Marshall in the first round and trailed Northwestern's Jameson Oster in the second round, 9-3, before going on a scoring barrage. Abidin scored 25 consecutive points to defeat Oster and add a 16-0 win over Army's Logan Everett in the following round before pinning Princeton's Jordan Laster in 4:42. 

In the Round of 12, Abidin was pinned by No. 12 seed Chris Mecate of Old Dominion.

Big Ten Championships
Abidin finished seventh at 141 pounds with a 2-2 record. After falling to No. 5 Anthony Ashnault of Rutgers in the opening round, Abidin notched a 5-2 decision over Maryland's Alfred Bannister. Abidin fell to No. 7 Tommy Thorn of Minnesota, 8-5, but bounced back with a pin against Michigan's George Fisher.

Regular Season
Abidin went 21-15 during his last season with the Huskers, and led all NU starters in technical falls with five. Abidin, who went 9-8 in duals, also had five pins and one major decision on the season. He recorded a 2-2 mark at the Midlands Championships (Dec. 29-30) and finished third at the Bob Smith Open (Dec. 6). During the Bob Smith Open, Abidin went 5-1 with all five wins coming in bonus-point fashion.

2014-15 (Junior)
NCAA Championships
Abidin fell one win short of All-America honors at 141 pounds in his first NCAA Championships appearance. Abidin, the No. 9 seed, opened the tournament with an 8-0 major decision over Purdue’s Nick Lawrence before winning a 6-4 decision over eighth-seeded Geo Martinez of Boise State. In the quarterfinals, Abidin fell to No. 1 seed and four-time NCAA champion Logan Stieber of Ohio State, 16-1. Abidin lost a 16-8 major decision to third-seeded Lavion Mayes of Missouri in his first consolation match to be eliminated.

Big Ten Championships
Abidin earned bonus points in three of his four wins at the Big Ten Championships on his way to a fourth-place finish. He pinned two of his opponents and added a major decision against Northwestern’s Jameson Oster in the consolation bracket. Each of Abidin’s losses came by two points to top-eight opponents. Abidin also took down No. 9 Anthony Ashnault of Rutgers, 5-2, in the wrestlebacks.

Regular Season
Abidin led the team with a perfect 15-0 dual record at 141 pounds and went 33-6 overall. He led all starters with 13 major decisions and added four pins and two technical falls. He finished first at the Cowboy Open and took third at the Southern Scuffle. In addition, Abidin went 8-6 against ranked opponents.

2013-14 (Sophomore)
Regular Season
Abidin collected three top-three tournament finishes and compiled a perfect 5-0 dual record at 141 pounds. He went 18-3 overall, with four pins, two major decisions and one technical fall. Abidin finished second at the Warren Williamson/Daktronics Open and Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational, while taking third at the Reno Tournament of Champions.

Before Nebraska
Abidin joined the Huskers after winning the NJCAA national title at 133 pounds as a freshman in 2012. Wrestling for Nassau Community College, Abidin finished the year ranked 12th following a 28-4 season before making a run to the championship match. He won a 7-4 decision over Iowa Central’s Brandon Wright to claim the national title. Abidin redshirted during his second season at Nassau.

Before Nassau, Abidin wrestled at Half Hollow Hills East High School in Dix Hills, N.Y. As a senior, he went 36-1 en route to the state crown at 125 pounds. Abidin recorded 21 pins, five major decisions and four technical falls during 2011 and finished his high school career with a 148-12 record. Abidin also wrestled at Calhoun High School and earned four-time all-county honors.

He is a three-time freestyle state champion, three-time Greco-Roman state champion and three-time national team member.

Personal
Anthony is the son of Anthony and Krista Abidin and has one brother, Michael. Anthony was born on Dec. 24, 1992, and is majoring in sociology.
