NCAA Championships
2009-Browne finished fourth at the 2009 NCAA Championships to earn his second consecutive All-America accolade. Browne opened with a 12-4 major decision over Old Dominion's Erick Decker, posted a 9-6 decision over No. 13 Nathan Lee of Boise State and claimed a 4-1 decision over No. 14 Quentin Wright of Penn State.

In the semifinals, Browne lost a 7-3 decision to No. 8 Mike Miller of Central Michigan. Browne rebounded with a 7:18 pin of No. 6 Steve Anceravage of Cornell, but lost to fifth-ranked Raymond Jordan of Missouri in the consolation final.

2008-Browne finished fourth at the 2008 NCAA Championships with a 4-2 record to earn his first All-America honor. Browne opened the tournament with three straight decisions over Virginia’s Chris Henrich (8-3), Iowa State’s Aron Scott (8-5) and Cornell’s Steve Anceravage (3-2), but lost to second-ranked Steve Luke of Michigan in overtime, 3-1, in the semifinals.

Browne advanced to the third-place match with a 4-1 win over Central Michigan’s Brandon Sinnott, but dropped a 6-4 decision to Iowa’s Jay Borschel to finish fourth.

Big 12 Championships
2009-Browne went 2-0 to earn his second straight Big 12 title at 174 pounds. Browne topped No. 13 Newly McSpadden of Oklahoma State, 3-1, in the semifinals and earned a thrilling 3-1 decision over fifth-ranked Raymond Jordan of Missouri to win the final with a last-second takedown.

2008-Browne captured the Big 12 Conference title with a 2-0 showing at 174 pounds. In his first match, he battled fifth-seeded Emanual Brooks of Missouri to the first tiebreaker before Browne scored a reversal to earn a 7-6 win.

Browne won a thrilling 7-6 decision over Oklahoma State’s Brandon Mason in the finals, a match in which Browne earned the winning takedown with nine seconds left.

Career Notes
2009-Browne posted a 30-5 record during his senior campaign to finish with a 79-15 career record. The mark put him seventh on NU’s top 10 career win-loss percentage with a .840 mark. Browne opened the season with an 11-0 mark, including a 6-0 showing to place first in the elite division of the Kaufman-Brand Open on Nov. 22. Browne also advanced to the final of the Las Vegas Invitational on Dec. 6, but lost to Michigan's Steve Luke in overtime.

Browne posted a 4-0 mark to help Nebraska place fourth at the National Duals on Jan. 11, and continued his roll with two dual pins on Jan. 18. Browne ended his season with a 5-1 run, helping the Huskers post dual wins over Penn, Virginia Tech, Oklahoma State and Oklahoma.

2008-Browne’s 35-4 record tied him for 15th on Nebraska’s top 20 single-season wins list. He led the Huskers in both total victories (35) and dual wins (14). Browne became the 52nd NU wrestler in history to top 30 wins in a season.

Browne started the season with 13 straight wins to place first at the Cowboy Open on Nov. 10, and the Kaufman-Brand Open on Nov. 17. Browne followed with a third-place finish at the Las Vegas Invite after a 7-1 performance, including four major decisions. After being ranked No. 10, Browne’s victory over then-second ranked Matthew Stolpinksi of Navy vaulted Browne to the No. 5 spot.

Browne went 3-1 against four ranked opponents at the National Duals on Jan. 12-13, and scored a 2-1 upset of then-No. 2 Brandon Mason of Oklahoma State a week later. Browne’s win earned him Big 12 Wrestler-of-the-Week honors on Jan. 21.

He ended his campaign with six straight dual wins to run his dual mark to 14-1 and earn 54 dual points on the year for Nebraska.

Browne finished the season a perfect 7-0 against Big 12 opponents and went 12-4 versus ranked foes.

2007-Browne sat out the 2007 campaign.

2006-Browne split time between 174 and 184 pounds finishing 14-6 on the season with a 3-3 dual mark. Browne opened the season with a 5-0 championship run at 174 pounds at the Harold Nichols Open on Nov. 12. After a 2-2 record at the Kaufman-Brand Open, Browne took second at the UNI Open with a 4-1 record, losing only in the finals to Nebraska’s Jacob Klein.

Browne stepped into the Huskers’ starting lineup the following week at 184 pounds. On Dec. 17 at the Nebraska Duals, Browne had his best dual performance with a win by fall over Oregon State’s Neal Beaudry.

2005-Browne showed promise as a redshirt at 165 pounds. He went 20-5 in open competition, including three individual championships. He placed in five of six tournaments, including his first collegiate competition, the Kaufman-Brand Open on Nov. 11. That day, Browne finished fourth in the 20-and-under division, as he won his first four matches.

After a 1-2 showing at the UNI Open on Dec. 4, Browne finished third at the UNK Loper Open with a 4-1 record. He won his last two matches at UNK, beginning a 12-match winning streak that stretched to the end of the season. Browne won four matches to take the Beamon Open championship on Jan. 8, then three matches to win the Brand Open on Jan. 15, and three more to capture the Great Plains Open title on Jan. 29.

Before Nebraska-Browne was an All-American and a two-time state champion at Plattsmouth High School for Coach Kyle Bluhn. Browne was a four-time state finalist at Plattsmouth, and wrestled to a career record of 138-6.

Personal
The son of Bradley and Thayes Browne, Brandon was born on April 10, 1986. He has three brothers, Aaron, Cameron and Jesse, and a sister, Aimee. Cameron was also on the NU wrestling team. Brandon was a psychology major at Nebraska.
