2007-Roberts wrestled to a 9-12 record, including 0-3 in duals, during the 2006-07 season. Roberts started the year at 174 pounds and wrestled to a 2-8 record at two open tournaments and the Las Vegas Invitational on Dec. 1. Roberts moved up to 184 pounds with a fair amount of success, finishing the season on a 7-4 run at two open tournaments. Roberts had three pins and one technical fall.

 

2006-In his second year in the program, Roberts finished 11-13, including an 0-3 mark in duals at 197 pounds.  Roberts finished fifth in the 20-and-under division at the Kaufman-Brand Open in a 3-2 performance on Nov. 19 in <?xml:namespace prefix="st1" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags"?>Omaha, Neb.  After a 1-2 mark at the Oklahoma Open on Nov. 26, Roberts finished 2-2 at the UNK Loper Open in Dec. 10. 

 

The following week, Roberts wrestled his first dual matches of his career as he stepped in for an injured B.J. Padden at 197 pounds.  In his first open tournament after his three-match stint in Nebraska’s starting lineup, Roberts finished second at the Dana College Open on Jan. 7.  Roberts wrapped up his season with a 2-2, fourth-place showing at the Brand Open in Omaha, Neb., on Jan. 21.

 

2005-In his first year at Nebraska, Roberts finished with a 7-12 mark at 184 pounds.  Roberts’ best performance was at the UNK Runza Loper Open on Dec. 11.  After losing his first match, Roberts ran off three straight wins and finished the day with a 3-2 record.  Roberts was 2-2 at the Great Plains Open on Jan. 29 at Lincoln, Neb.

 

Before Nebraska-Roberts was a part of three state championship teams in his four years at Lincoln East.  He earned 113 wins in his high school career.  He was a four-year letterman in wrestling and a three-year letterman in football, where he was a linebacker.

 

Personal-Born on Jan. 6, 1986 in Lincoln, Neb., Casey is the son of Kris and Doug Roberts.  At Lincoln East, he was an academic letterwinner, a member of National Honor Society, and a four-year member of the honor roll.  He is an architecture major.
