Career Notes
2001-2002: After redshirting at 141 pounds last season, Baker compiled a 15-17 season record, while being 3-11 in duals. He collected three pins, one tech fall and three major decisions.
2000- Baker compiled an 8-7 record last season in open tournaments including a sixth-place finish at the Great Plains Open.
Other- One of two wrestlers who are two-sport athletes (also Mitch Manstedt-Football), Baker competed on the Husker track and field squad last season as a high jumper. A multi-sport athlete at Hoxie High School, Baker was a two-time state champion while wrestling for his father and coach, Kirk Baker. He compiled a 124-7 prep career record. A Class 2A state high jump champion, Baker was named the athlete of the year at Hoxie High School in 1998.
Personal- The son of Kirk and Kelly Baker, Travis has two brothers, Trent, 17, and Tyler, 12.
