Daryl Monasmith spent three seasons as an assistant coach under Bob Fehrs from 1978-82. He missed the 1980-81 season due to his studies in the field of entomology. Monasmith helped guide the Huskers to a 39-24-2 record during his time on the Nebraska coaching staff, including guiding four NU wrestlers to All-America honors.
Monasmith was a Big Eight champion at Oklahoma State and was named the Big Eight meet's Oustanding Wrestler. He was also a two-time All-American.
