2015-16: Senior
Mackeena Maddox-Herr competed out of the No. 5 and 6 singles spots as a senior for the Huskers in the spring of 2016. She finished with an 8-7 overall record in singles action, including 2-5 in Big Ten play. She closed with a 3-1 mark at No. 5 and a 5-6 mark at No. 6 singles.

She 4 meets in No. 5 spot and 11 meets in the No. 6 spot. Maddox was paired with Elizabeth Gould, Sydney Harlow and Katerina Matysova for the doubles teams

In the doubles, Maddox-Herr finished with an 11-9 record during the spring, primarily pairing with Katerina Matysova to go 8-8. Maddox-Herr added a 3-0 mark with Sydney Harlow, while going 0-1 with Elizabeth Gould on the doubles court.

Off the court, Maddox-Herr earned academic All-Big Ten honors as a senior and was also a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar. She claimed spots on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll in both the fall and spring semesters of 2015-16. She was a member of the 2016 Tom Osborne Citizenship Team. She earned her bachelor's degree from Nebraska in August of 2016.

2014-15: Junior
In her inaugural season as a Husker, Maddox made an instant impact, contributing at the No. 6 singles spot where she tallied a 4-9 mark, going 1-7 in Big Ten action. 

Maddox paired with Lisa Andersson for the first match of the spring season and earned the 8-6 victory. She teamed with Katerina Matysova to fill the No. 3 doubles spot for the remainder of the spring season, as the duo grabbed an 8-14 overall mark, going 2-9 in Big Ten play. 

Off the court, Maddox earned impressive honors in her first season with NU. She earned a spot on the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team which honors students who have completed at least six service projects and remain in both good academic and athletic standing. Maddox also earned the prestigous Nebraska Student-Athlete HERO Leadership Award, which celebrates exceptional leadership, consistent and dedicated community service, and positive influence on the team. 

Before Nebraska
Maddox will join the Huskers after spending two seasons at BYU. She went 8-4 in singles play during the fall of her freshman season and advanced to the semifinals of the Cal Nike Invitational. She played all but two of her regular-season singles matches at the No. 5 position. She got a singles win over No. 51 San Diego and a doubles win over No. 70 Washington State.

Maddox compiled 6-3 singles record in fall play of her sophomore season. She teamed up with Morgan Anderson-Littlewood for victory over No. 50 Denver's Maureen Slattery and Evy Van Genechten, 8-3.

Maddox earned a spot on the West Coast Conference Honor Roll both her freshman and sophomore year.

Maddox attended high school at McKinney Boyd, where she received All-State honors in 2009, 2010 and 2012.

Personal
The daughter of Doug and Paula Maddox, Mackenna was born on July 12, 1994, in McKinney, Texas. Mackenna has two brothers, Jared, 23, and Danton, 21. She married DJ Jerr on July 7, 2015. Mackenna majored in geographic information systems, earning her bachelor's degree from Nebraska in August of 2016. She earned academic All-Big Ten honors and was a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar in 2016. She was a three-time member of the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll, she was also a two-time selection to the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team. She earned a prestigious Nebraska Student-Athlete HERO Leadership Award in 2015.
