2009-10: Senior:
The lone senior on the team, Wiveca Swarting provided plenty of leadership to a young Husker squad and capped her career with another memorable season. After a phenomenal junior season, Swarting came back just as strong in her fourth year, winning a total of 22 matches to just nine losses on the singles court. Swarting's 90 career wins were enough for her to graduate tied for second on the school's career singles wins list. 

Swarting saw limited action in the fall, playing just three singles and two doubles matches, but showed litte sign of rust in the spring. She cruised to a tremendous 20-8 singles record, going 2-1 at the No. 2 position and racking up 18 wins at the No. 3 spot. Swarting played even better during conference play, notching an 8-3 record against Big 12 opponents.

Swarting was a menace on the doubles court, as well. She reeled off 25 total wins, 24 of them coming in the spring. Swarting and teammate Janine Weinreich, her primary partner, went 17-11 overall and dominated Big 12 play by posting a 7-3 record. Swarting was 8-2 in her other doubles matches, going 7-2 with Jennifer Holmberg and winning her only match at the No. 1 position with Mary Weatherholt.        

An excellent student throughout her career, Swarting earned first-team academic All-Big 12 accolades for the third year in a row. She was also named to the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll both semesters, making the list every semester she was at Nebraska.

2008-09: Junior 
Swarting had a record-breaking junior season, winning 30 singles matches, which tied her with the previous record holder for singles wins in a season (Sandra Noetzel), although both were passed by Mary Weatherholt who won 36 singles matches last season. Swarting had a fantastic start to the season, winning 14 singles matches in the fall, including winning the singles title at the ITA Central Regional Tournament. Swarting also had nine doubles wins in the fall season.

The success she had in the fall propelled her into a great start to the spring season, where she won her first 10 singles matches, all in straight sets. Swarting spent the spring season bouncing between four different singles spots, as she played at least one match at the Nos. 1-4 positions. She found most of her success at the No. 4 spot, where she racked up six wins. Her 48 combined wins on the year were good enough to tie for fifth place on the all-time single-season list.

Swarting was named to the academic All-Big 12 first team for the second consecutive year, and was also selected to the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll in both the fall and spring semesters.

2007-08: Sophomore 
After a fantastic freshman season, Swarting followed with an even more impressive sophomore campaign in 2007-08 for Nebraska. Swarting led the team with 19 spring singles victories and was second on the team with 20 overall singles victories. She also led the team in spring winning percentage (19-4, .826) and overall winning percentage (20-5, .800). Swarting played most of the season at the No. 2 singles spot where she went 14-4, but also spent some time at No. 3 where she was 5-0. She was also dominant in Big 12 play, as she led the team in conference victories with an 8-3 record.

Swarting teamed with Maria Ring for the majority of the season at the No. 2 doubles position, where the duo posted a 13-6 record, including a 3-6 Big 12 mark. After winning 34 combined singles and doubles matches in 2007-08, Swarting posted 69 combined singles and doubles victories by the end of her sophomore season at Nebraska. Swarting was named to her third Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll at Nebraska after earning a spot on the Fall 2007 list. She also claimed first-team academic All-Big 12 honors, along with Imke Reimers.

2006-07: Freshman 
Swarting enjoyed a terrific freshman season for Nebraska in 2006-07. Her 35 combined wins were second on the team, as were her 18 singles wins. Swarting played every match at the No. 3 position during the spring season, posting a 14-8 record, second most on the team in the spring. She came out of the gates strong, winning five of her first six matches before falling into a mini-slump during the meat of the Big 12 season. But Swarting finished the season by winning eight of her last 10 matches, including a five-match winning streak. At one point, she won 16 of 20 sets she played.

Swarting's most memorable match came against Irina Lykina of Oklahoma. Down 4-1 in the third set, with the team score tied at 3, Swarting rallied to win five straight games over the Oklahoma senior, giving her a three-set victory and the Huskers a crucial Big 12 team victory. Swarting played every doubles match at the No. 2 position during the spring season, teaming with Diana Kuhl and Maria Ring to post a 14-7 record, including a 5-6 Big 12 record. She and Ring won six straight doubles matches at one point in the season.

Before Nebraska 
Swarting came to Lincoln to join the Husker program after rising as high as No. 5 in the individual player rankings in Sweden. She also cracked the top 400 rankings of the International Tennis Federation. Swarting has won multiple Swedish championships, and has made three ITF finals appearances. She played at Kramtors Tennis Gymnasium for Coach Peter Rejmer and graduated in 2006. Swarting spent the spring of 2006 playing for the Salk club team.  

Personal 
Wiveca is the daughter of Odd and Elisabeth Swarting, and was born on Feb. 1, 1987. She has one brother, Carl, 18, and two sisters, Gisela, 14, and Wendela, 11. Wiveca is an international business major.
