2022-23 (Senior)
Shannon Stott's fifth season included a trio of A Final qualifications at conference, a school record in the 500 freestyle, 14 NCAA B Standard Cuts and 10 individual titles. The senior from St. Albans, Great Britain, was the leading scorer for Nebraska at the Big Ten Championships. In the 500 freestyle, Stott broke the school record with a 4:41.65 in the prelim and went on to place eighth. She re-broke the record at the Mizzou Last Chance Qualifier (4:41.34). Stott's top finish at conference was in the 200 butterfly, finishing seventh after swimming a career-best 1:57.29 in the prelim. That time is the third-fastest in school history. Rounding out Stott's podium finishes was an eighth-place swim in the 200 freestyle, with a career-best 1:46.46 in the prelims. That time moves Stott to No. 2 on the all-time list.

At the mid-season Hawkeye Invite, Stott clocked a career-best 1:58.15 to win the 200 butterfly and hit the NCAA B Standard Cut. Adding another NCAA B Standard, Stott swam a career-best 4:44.51 in the 500 freestyle prelims and went on to finish as runner-up in the finals. She was also a member of the winning 800 freestyle relay at the invitational and notched another runner-up finish in the 200 freestyle with a 1:47.72.

Through Stott's first four times swimming the 200 butterfly, she won the event in duals with Iowa State (2:03.98), Iowa (2:04.25) and Kansas (2:03.65), while finishing as runner-up in a double-dual with Minnesota and South Dakota (2:05.08). In the 500 freestyle, Stott swam to victory in the Iowa (4:59.67) and Kansas (5:00.33) duals. She pitched in a runner-up effort in the event at the Minnesota and South Dakota double-dual with a 5:01.87.

2021-22 (Senior)
Stott collected 11 titles during her senior season, including six in the 200 butterfly. She finished fourth at the CSCAA Open Water Championships, helping Nebraska to a team victory.  She followed with a pair of individual titles in the 1,000 freestyle and the 100 butterfly in a season-opening dual victory over South Dakota State. Stott continued to be a leader in the water by racing to individual victories in the 200 butterfly and 500 freestyle in Nebraska’s dual win over Iowa at the Devaney Natatorium (Oct. 23). NU’s 193-59 victory over the Hawkeyes represented their largest margin of victory over a Big Ten opponent in school history.

Stott continued to be one of Nebraska’s major contributors in the Minnesota (Oct. 29) and Iowa State (Oct. 30) duals, putting up two individual victories and two runner-up finishes in one weekend. This included finishing first in the 500 freestyle and second in the 200 butterfly against the Golden Gophers. She added a win in the 200 butterfly and a runner-up finish in the 100 butterfly against the Cyclones the next day.

Stott continued to swim the exact time she swam the 200 fly (2:02.04) against Iowa State the next week in a dual against Kansas (Nov. 5) to notch yet another victory in the event. She claimed yet another individual victory in the 200 fly (1:58.76) at the competitive Mizzou Invitational. She added a relay victory in the 800 freestyle relay (7:15.75), while finishing fourth in the 100 fly and eighth in the 500 free. Stott got the opportunity to compete against some of the best swimmers in the country at the U.S. Open Championships (Dec. 1-4), where she nabbed a top-ten finish in the 200-meter butterfly (10th, 2:15.29).

Stott added another victory in the 200 fly at Illinois, along with a runner-up finish in the 100 fly. She capped off the dual season with a pair of second-place finishes in the butterfly events against Rutgers. At the Big Ten Championships, Stott earned a spot in the 200 fly C finals. During the finals, Stott shaved a second and a half off her prelims time to win the C final with a 1:58.94 and place 17th overall. She added a 28th-place finish in the 500 free (4:53.60) and a 31st-place swim in the 200 free (1:49.15). A week after the conference meet, Stott competed in the Mizzou Last-Chance Qualifier meet, where she improved her 200 fly time even more to clock a career-best 1:58.23.

She also contributed on Nebraska’s 400 and 800 free relay teams that combined to produce 86 points to help the Huskers to the best team finish and highest score since joining the Big Ten in 2011-12. Stott also competed in the 200 free (30th, 1:49.59) and 500 free (32nd, 4:53.33) at the Big Ten Championships. She also finished fourth in the 100 fly at Iowa (Jan. 16).
