Senior (2024-25)
Maia Hall notched a season best in the 200 IM (2:06.91) against the Iowa State Cyclones (Oct. 25) in the Devaney Natatorium. Maia collected a pair of first-place finishes in the 100 (1:03.68) and the 200 breaststoke (2:18.57). She also contributed to a runner-up finish in the 200 medley relay (29.09) by swimming 100 meter leg in 29.09.
Hall posted impressive finishes in a dual against Iowa (Oct. 18). She placed second in the 100 backstroke (1:03.62) and the 200 breaststroke (2:17.57). Maia also finished third in the 200 IM (2:07.39), while also contributing to a second-place team finish in the 200 medley relay (1:46.62).
Maia Hall opened her senior season by sweeping the 100 and 200 breaststroke titles in a double-dual with No. 24 Minnesota and South Dakota at the Devaney Center (Oct. 4). Hall tied teammate JoJo Randby for the win in the 100 breaststroke before winning the 200. Hall added a third-place showing in the 200 IM against the Golden Gophers and Coyotes.
Junior (2023-24)
Hall excelled in the 100 and 200 breaststroke events, taking fifth for the Huskers in both events at the 2024 Big Ten Championships. The junior from Whitby, England hit the NCAA B Standard four times in the 100 breaststroke and eight times in the 200. At the Big Ten Championships, Hall clocked a time of 1:01.11 in the 100 breaststroke to earn a spot in the A final. She finished fifth by clocking the second-fastest time in school history (1:00.16) in the final. Hall also grabbed a fifth-place finish in the 200 breaststroke, finishing in 2:10.90.
She went on to clock a career-best in the event during a time trial at the Mizzou Last Chance Meet. Her time of 2:09.87 was also the No. 2 time in Husker history. Hall picked up two NCAA B cuts at the Hawkeye Invitational. She qualified for the A final in the 100 breaststroke (1:01.84) before notching her first NCAA B cut of the season and shaved off a few seconds in the finals for a second-place finish, earning her first B cut of the season (1:01.20). Hall also punched her ticket to the A final of the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:14.04 in the prelims. She went on to finish second in the finals with a time of 2:13.18. Hall finished the season with 15 top-three finishes, including six first-place finishes.
Sophomore (2022-23)
Hall continued to achieve and progress throughout her sophomore campaign. At the mid-season Hawkeye Invite, Hall clocked a then-career-best 2:10.76 in the 200 breaststroke to win the event and hit the NCAA B Standard. It was also the third-fastest time in Nebraska history. Hall added a third-place finish in the 100 breaststroke with a 1:01.72 and finished sixth in the 200 IM with a career-best 2:02.26. At the Big Ten Championships, Hall won the 200 breaststroke B Final to finish ninth overall with a time of 2:11.63.
In the 100 breaststroke, Hall clocked a career-best 1:00.76 to place 10th and move to fifth on Nebraska’s all-time list. Hall collected four-straight mid-season 200 breaststroke victories, including wins in duals against Iowa (2:20.64), Kansas (2:21.25) and Omaha (2:19.70). She also won the 100 breaststroke in 1:07.48 at the season-opening dual against SDSU. Hall tallied six individual wins and 11 top-three finishes during the season.
Freshman (2021-22)
During her freshman campaign, Hall was a consistent leader in the breaststroke group. She scored the second-most points at the Big Ten Championships for NU after making B-final appearance in both the 100 and 200 breaststroke events. Hall finished 12th in the 200 breaststroke and 13th in the 100 breaststroke. Her 100 breaststroke prelims time of 1:00.98 put her at fourth on Nebraska’s all-time list and her 200 breaststroke prelims time of 2:11.72 was the fifth-fastest in Nebraska history. Hall made her collegiate debut at the South Dakota State dual, where she swam to a third-place finish in the 200 IM and 200 medley relay. The freshman put up her first victory of the season in the 100 breaststroke at the Iowa dual (Oct. 23), followed by a fourth-place swim in the 100 fly.
Hall swam to two consecutive fourth-place finishes in the 100 breaststroke, against Minnesota and Iowa State, while adding a third-place finish in the 200 breaststroke. Against the Jayhawks, Hall dropped her 200 breaststroke time by almost three seconds to claim a runner-up finish, in addition to finishing third in the 100 breaststroke. Two weeks later, Hall swam five seconds faster in the 200 breast (2:14.62) to place third at the competitive Mizzou Invitational (Nov. 17-19).
She nabbed another top-five finish in the 100 breaststroke with a 1:02.64. Hall attacked the opportunity to swim against the best in the country at the U.S. Opens (Dec. 1-4), where she earned a spot in the 200-meter breaststroke A-finals. She went on to finish eighth overall with a 2:38.43. In the 100-meter breaststroke, Hall added a B-finals appearance and swam to 12th place with a 1:12.98. She closed the dual season with two victories in the 200 breaststroke, including a career-best swim against Rutgers (Jan. 28).
Before Nebraska
A breaststroke specialist who was the 2017 British 15U National Champion in the 50-meter race, Hall has won multiple medals at the British National Championships and was the winner of the Junior Final at the British Olympic Trials in 2019. At the 2019 Scottish Short-Course National Championships, Hall finished fourth in the 50 (32.16), 100 (1:09.40) and 200 breaststroke (2:28.21).
Personal
The daughter of Michael and Rachel Hall, Maia was born in Scarborough, England, on Oct. 19, 2002. She has one younger sister, Esme, and two younger brothers, Isaac and Luca. A second-team CSCAA Scholar All-American in 2024, Maia is majoring in accounting. She earned Academic All-Big Ten honors in 2023 and 2024. She is a five-time Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll. Hall is a two-time member of the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team. She has dual citizenship in Great Britain and Australia after living in Queensland for several years.
