2019 (Senior)
Savanah Uveges (pronounced YOU-Vegas) started five of her six appearances for a total of 366 minutes in 2019. She netted two goals on nine shots, three of which were on goal. Uveges played a season-high 78 minutes in each of the first two games of the season. Sidelined by injury for much of the season, she played in two Big Ten matches after appearing in four of seven non-conference contests. Uveges scored via penalty kick against Gonzaga on Sept. 15 in the 21st minute for her first goal of the season. On Oct. 13, she scored the equalizer against Rutgers in the 34th minute.
2018 (Senior)
Uveges started all 21 games and logged 1,754 minutes, the fifth-most on the team in 2018. After the season, she received third-team All-Big Ten recognition after compiling 20 points, tied for the most on the team and sixth in the conference. Uveges scored at least one point in 11 of Nebraska's 21 games. Uveges scored eight goals, which ranked second on the team and tied for fifth in the Big Ten. She added four assists, while taking 30 shots (16 shots on goal). Uveges went a perfect 4-for-4 on penalty kicks as the only Husker to attempt one in regulation time during the season.
Uveges posted a season-high three-point effort on Aug. 20 against BYU, assisting a goal in the fourth minute before scoring her first goal of the season in the 40th minute. She added one goal against both Oregon State (Aug. 26) and Washington State (Aug. 31). In conference play, Uveges scored one goal in four of the first five contests to help NU start the Big Ten schedule with a 4-0-1 mark. Her goal in the 14th minute against Purdue on Sept. 23 was the game winner. She also scored the game-winning goal in NU's 1-0 road win over No. 24 Penn State on Sept. 27 when she slipped a penalty kick past the Nittany Lion goalkeeper in the 24th minute. Her third game-winning goal came in the regular-season finale against Michigan State on Oct. 24. Uveges recorded assists against Oregon (Aug. 24), No. 14 Duke (Sept. 6) and Indiana (Sept. 20).
2017 (Junior)
Uveges made 17 appearances, including eight starts, for 648 minutes in 2017. On Aug. 25, Uveges scored her first career goal in the closing seconds of Nebraska's 3-0 win over South Dakota. During the season, she managed 11 shots, three of which were on goal. Uveges played 50 or more minutes on seven occasions, including a season-high 72 minutes at Washington State on Sept. 1.
2016 (Sophomore)
Uveges did not appear in any games during the 2016 campaign due to injury. The Huskers went 11-6-5 overall to qualify for the Big Ten Tournament and NCAA Tournament.
2015 (Redshirt Freshman)
Uveges did not see playing time during the 2015 season due to injury. Nebraska posted an 8-7-2 record overall.
2014 (Redshirt)
Uveges redshirted during her first season at Nebraska. The Huskers went 8-9-2 overall.
High School
Uveges was a two-sport athlete in soccer and basketball at South Elgin High School. She played soccer under Coach Tiffany Disher and set several records, including most goals in a season (23), quickest goal scored (17 seconds) and most goals in a game (5). Uveges recorded 19 goals as a freshman and 23 as a sophomore. Uveges was an all-conference, all-area and all-sectional selection and a member of the National Honor Society.
Other Information
During the club season, Uveges played alongside former Husker Michaela Loebel for Strikers Fox Valley under coaches Amy and Jim Winslow. They helped Strikers Fox Valley to a Midwest Regional League Championship.
Personal Information
Savanah is the daughter of John and Robbe Uveges and was born on June 9, 1996. She has four brothers, Jonathan, Jordan, Quinn and Collin, as well as one sister, Gabrielle. Uveges majored in nutrition and health sciences and earned her bachelor's degree from Nebraska in December of 2019. She is a nine-time Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll selection. Uveges earned a Sam Foltz Hero 27 Leadership Award in 2019, and was also a five-time member of the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team. She was a three-time Academic All-Big Ten selection. She has spent time in the spring of 2017 and 2018 on service trips to Africa along with collegiate student-athletes from many other Midwest schools, organized by Husker assistant women's basketball coach Tom Goehle.
