2016 (Senior)
Jaycie Johnson led the Huskers with 11 goals during her final season at Nebraska, helping lead the team to the NCAA Tournament for the second time in four years. Johnson collected numerous honors following the season, including NSCAA All-America (Third Team), NSCAA All-Great Lakes Region (First Team) and All-Big Ten first-team accolades. She started all 22 games, amassing over 2,000 minutes, scoring six game-winning goals and added two assists. 

Johnson scored all 11 of her goals in the last 17 games of the season after not scoring in the first five games of her senior campaign. Her first goal came against Saint Louis on Sept. 4, and she added two more in NU's next outing against Dayton on Sept. 9. On Sept. 23, Johnson recorded her second career hat trick (the 33rd hat trick in program history) when she scored in the 29th, 37th and 60th minutes at Ohio State. She was named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week for her performance against the Buckeyes. 

In the Big Ten opener against Michigan State on Sept. 16, Johnson scored the game winner in the fourth minute. She scored once against Penn State, Indiana, Illinois and Iowa.

Johnson finished her Husker career with 42 goals (tied for sixth-most in Husker history), 17 career game-winning goals (second-most in program history) and nine career multiple-goal games (tied for seventh in program history).

2015 (Junior)
Johnson scored three goals in nine games before suffering a season-ending ACL tear against No. 12 Penn State on Sept. 25. Johnson scored twice against Central Michigan on Aug. 28, including the game-winner in the 107th minute. Her first goal of the game was a header off a corner kick from Sydney Miramontez in the 33rd minute.

Johnson recorded her lone assist of the season on the road against then-No. 20 DePaul on Sept. 6 to help Jaylyn Odermann finish a header into the net. On Sept. 13 at Missouri, Johnson scored her third goal of the season in the 88th minute, which proved to be the game-winner in a 1-0 triumph.

2014 (Sophomore)
Johnson led the Huskers with 11 goals in 2014, and added three assists. She started all 19 games and compiled 38 shots on goal while playing an average of 84 minutes per game. 

Johnson notched her first goal of the season in the home opener against SMU on Aug. 22 off an assist from Mayme Conroy. Johnson added another one for the weekend in the closing minutes against DePaul on Aug. 24.

Her first of two multi-goal games came at Marquette on Aug. 31. Trailing the Golden Eagles 2-0, Johnson scored two goals in the second half, including the game-winner in the 83rd minute off an assist from Caroline Gray.

Johnson also scored twice while facing North Dakota on Sept. 7. Both of her goals came in a two-minute span at the beginning of the second half.

Johnson scored once against Big Ten opponents Maryland, Michigan State, Minnesota, Purdue and Indiana. Her goal against the Boilermakers on Oct. 17 proved to be the game-winner in a 1-0 triumph, as she juked the goalie after receiving a pass from Gray.

Johnson's assists in 2014 came against SMU, Northwestern and Maryland.

2013 (Freshman)
Johnson had one of the best freshman seasons in Nebraska soccer history on her way to leading the team in goals with 17 which tied for the 10th best single-season performance in Nebraska history and included seven game-winning goals. Johnson was honored as an NSCAA All-Great Lakes Region Second Team selection and also an All-Big Ten Second Teamer, while being unanimously selected to the All-Big Ten Freshman Team as she tied for the second-best goal output by a freshman in NU history. 

Johnson finished with four multi-goal performances on the year. Throughout the year, Johnson picked up four separate weekly conference awards, while receiving national recognition from a multitude of online soccer media outlets.

The 2013 season for the Lake Winnebago, Mo. native was highlighted by two big-time moments where Johnson came through in the clutch.

In the highly-anticipated Oct. 27th matchup against No. 16 Penn State, Johnson gave Nebraska a 2-1 edge with a rebound tap-in in the 83rd minute before PSU sent the game into OT with the equalizer with less than two minutes remaining. The freshman then ran three-quarters the length of the field after a excellent throw from Emma Stevens, dribbled right and fired a shot from 20 yards out to beat the Nittany Lions to the bottom left corner for the thrilling 3-2 double-OT victory. 

In the 2013 NCAA Tournament First Round match against Southeastern Louisiana on Nov. 15, Johnson scored four goals to become the fifth player and only freshman in NCAA Tournament history to score four times and the only player at Nebraska to accomplish the feat. Only three others have scored four goals for the Huskers in one match. 

Johnson had a remarkable debut for the Huskers. Johnson earned her first career goal as a Husker in the 52nd minute, beating the Southeast Missouri keeper to the far post after a give-and-go pass from Caroline Flynn. Johnson made it a multi-goal debut with just minutes remaining as she was taken down in the penalty area after she eluded the Redhawks defender. Johnson converted on the ensuing penalty kick as she fooled the keeper to the right side, giving NU the 4-0 victory to open the season. Johnson became the first Husker to score two goals in her first match.

Johnson scored her third goal of the year in just her second collegiate match when she was awarded a penalty shot after a mistimed tackle by the Bearcat defender. Johnson beat the Cincinnati keeper to the left side giving NU a 3-1 advantage with 22 minutes remaining.

On Sept. 13th at the KU Invitational, Johnson increased the NU lead to 3-0 at the 81:45 mark of the second half with her fourth tally of the year. After a long run, sophomore Katie Kraeutner found the streaking Johnson to hammer it into the back of the net as the Huskers went on to victory. 

In her next match, Johnson gave NU a 2-1 lead with her fifth goal of the season in the 2-1 win over San Diego. Jordan Jackson put a through ball in to Johnson who scored after a nifty touch inside the box at the 60:09 mark for the eventual game-winner. Johnson was named to the 2013 Kansas Invitational All-Tournament Team.

The freshman continued her strong play into the conference season. Just 11:17 into the match, Johnson notched the eventual game-winning goal with the help of Jackson on a give-and-go opportunity to give the Huskers the 1-0 victory. Jackson connected with Johnson at the 18-yard mark as the freshman drove in to beat the diving MSU keeper to the left from 12 yards out. 

In a momentum-building 2-1 victory over No. 14 Denver on Sept. 22, Samantha Areman sent in a great crossing pass from 25 yards out left wing to Johnson who headed it in from the penalty spot for the eventual game-winning goal giving Nebraska the 2-1 lead at the 78:49 mark of the second half. The game-winning goal was the third-consecutive game-winner for the freshman who scored in four straight matches for her seventh goal on the year.

In an dominant 4-0 victory on the road Purdue on Oct. 11, Johnson amassed four shots and one on target as she picked up an assist on Jordan Jackson's fifth goal of the year in the 63rd minute.

Johnson took her scoring ways into the postseason where produced the equalizer from Jackson as she gathered a bouncing ball for the one-touch put away upper 90 in the 47th minute in the 3-1 Big Ten Tournament Semifinal win over Indiana. Johnson capped the scoring in the 87th minute on an excellent pass down left flank, beat the defender and the keeper open netter for her third two-goal game of her debut season. Became the 12th NU player to score two or more goals in a conference tournament match. 

In the Big Ten Championship match against Iowa, Johnson tallied her sixth game-winning goal of the year on a penalty kick in the 30th minute for the only goal in the match as NU won 1-0 over Iowa to claim the 2013 Big Ten Tournament title. Johnson was taken down in the box as she stepped back to make a shot attempt on her way to being named Offensive Player of the Big Ten Tournament.

Johnson was named Big Ten Offensive Player and Freshman of the Week announced by the Conference office on Aug. 26. Johnson was Nebraska’s first Big Ten Freshman of the Week selection and the first Husker since Morgan Marlborough in 2009, to earn both offense and freshman conference awards in the same week. The last Nebraska Offensive Player of the Week was Mayme Conroy, who received the honor last year on Oct. 8, after recording a hat trick at Wisconsin.

High School
Named the 2013 Gatorade Missouri Girls Soccer Player of the Year, Johnson was tabbed the No. 148 player in the country by IMG Academy, as well as a four-star recruit by TopDrawerSoccer.com. Johnson also ranked as the No. 42 forward in the country and the No. 4 player in the Heartland Region by TopDrawerSoccer.com.

A prolific goal scorer at Lee's Summit West High School under Todd Krey, Johnson ended her career with 195 goals, as well as 37 assists.

As a senior in 2013, Johnson led the Titans to a 23-3-2 record and a berth in the quarterfinals of the Class 3 state tournament. After winning their opening game of the state tournament on an overtime goal from Johnson, the Titans fell to eventual state tournament runner-up St. Teresa's Academy, 4-1.

Johnson totaled 66 goals and eight assists as a senior, scoring at least one goal in all but one game on the season. A four-time Suburban Big 6 Player of the Year, Johnson was a three-time first-team All-State selection.

Tabbed as a 2012 NSCAA High School All-American following her junior season, Johnson was one of three girls in the state of Missouri to earn the honor, while the other two selections were seniors. Johnson was also a second-team all-state selection as a freshman in 2010 before being a first-team pick the final three seasons of her prep career.

Other Information
During the club season, Johnson played for the Sporting Blue Valley Soccer Club, and during her last season, she was the third-leading scorer in the ENCL and was named to the ENCL All-Tournament Team.

Personal Information
Jaycie is the daughter of Joe Johnson and Suzie Bott. She was born on April 18, 1995. She has one sister, Hayley Byers, and four brothers, Jacob Johnson, Jared Johnson, Joshua Byers and Taylor Bott. Jaycie majored in advertising and public relations, earning her bachelor's degree in May of 2017. She is a three-time selection to the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll.
