2025 (Senior)
Genesis Gibson did not compete in 2025, but provided depth to the Huskers’ lineup and helped the team reach the second round of the NCAA Championships in her senior season. 

2024 (Junior)

Genesis Gibson was in NU’s bars lineup for two meets in 2024 and posted a season-best 9.600 at Iowa State on Jan. 5. She earned Academic All-Big Ten honors for the second year in a row.

2023 (Sophomore)
Gibson added uneven bars routines in all 12 meets including the NCAA Denver Regional. Gibson hit all 12 routines, and set and matched a new career-best score on the event. At Utah State, Gibson tallied a 9.875 on bars. She followed the next weekend, matching her personal-best at the Masters Classic. 

2022 (Freshman) 
Gibson appeared in seven meets during her freshman campaign. The freshman set a then-career best against Ohio State with a 9.825 on uneven bars. At the Big Five meet, Gibson helped the Huskers to second-place finish during Session II, earning a 9.800 on bars. 

Before Nebraska
Gibson competed for the World Olympic Gymnastics Academy prior to attending Nebraska. While competing for WOGA, Gibson earned All-America honors. Gibson was also a member of the Ecuador National Team and qualified for the Olympic Trials prior to the meet being canceled due to COVID-19. 

Personal
The daughter of Jimmie and Roxanne Gibson, Genesis was born on Sept. 3, 2003 in Dallas, Texas. She has one older brother, Roman, and a younger brother, JT. Genesis has dual citizen as her father is from the United States and her mother is from Ecuador. 

A criminology and criminal justice major, Genesis is a two-time WGCA Scholastic All-American and was a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar in 2024. The three-time Academic All-Big Ten choice is a seven-time Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll selection. She was recognized with a prestigious Sam Foltz 27 Hero Leadership Award in 2023. She is a four-time member of the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team.
