Two-time All-American Alecia Ingram earned letters at <?xml:namespace prefix="st1" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags"?>Nebraska in 2001 and 2002. Ingram was a first-team All-American as a freshman in 2001.

2002 ? Sophomore Season<?xml:namespace prefix="o" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office"?>

Ingram did not compete in the 2002 season due to injury. Following Nebraska’s fifth-place finish at the NCAA Championships, Ingram transferred to the University of Florida.

 

2001 ? Freshman Season

In a breakout freshman season, Ingram became the only gymnast in Big 12 Conference history to be honored as both the Big 12 Newcomer of the Year and Big 12 Gymnast of the Year in the same competitive season. At the 2001 conference championships, the Knoxville, Tenn., native garnered All-Big 12 status on bars and vault, finishing second and fourth, respectively. Ingram went on to win the NCAA South Central Regional vault title before earning first-team All-America awards in the all-around (sixth) and bars (eighth).

 

Ingram was also a success in the classroom, as she was named a NACGC Scholastic All-American.

 

Before Nebraska

Ingram was an elite-level gymnast under Coach Steve Nunno at Dynamo Gymnastics. A four-year member of the U.S. Senior National Team, Ingram a 2000 U.S. Championships qualifier and also qualified for the 1996 Olympic Trials. In 1995, she was an alternate to the U.S. World Championships team and placed eighth in the all-around at the 1996 World Team Trials and the American Classic. Ingram took fifth individually at the 1997 U.S. Classic.

 

Personal

The daughter of Jo Ann and the late Eddie Ingram, Alecia was born on July 15, 1981, in Knoxville, Tenn.
