Arica Lamb was a four-year Husker letterwinner from 1997-2000. A three-time academic All-Big 12 selection (1997, 1998, 2000), Lamb closed her career as an NACGC Scholastic All-American.
As a senior: Arica did not compete in any regular-season competitions, but earned her fourth letter as a Husker while serving as a standout in the classroom. The Lincoln native earned NACGC Scholastic All-America honors and captured her third academic All-Big 12 award.
As a Junior: Although she did not compete in any any regular-season meets, Arica served as a valuable backup for the Huskers, competing in several exhibitions on vault during the season.
As a sophomore: Lamb saw extensive action in her sophomore season to earn her second letter in 1998. She was NU's lead-off vaulter for much of the season--five of her seven vaults scored a 9.4 or higher, including a career-best of 9.55 at the Arizona State UNO's Classic. Arica tied Arizona State All-American Meagan Wright with a 9.5 in finising fourth on vault at the Maui Invitational. She was also named first-team academic All-Big 12, carrying a 3.24 cumulative GPA.
As a freshman: Arica Lamb earned her first letter competing on the vault as a freshman and scored a season-high of 9.525 on vault at Southern Utah. She recorded scores of 9.425 at Big 12 rival Missouri and 9.4 at Southeast Missouri State. Lamb also captured academic All-Big 12 honors with a 3.23 GPA.
Prior: Lamb attended Lincoln Northeast High School and was a member of Capital City Gymnastics Club where she was coached by Duane West. Arica competed at the Junior Olympic Senior National Championships along with twin sister Alisha in 1995.
Personal: Arica Lamb is the daughter of Dave and Janelle Lamb. She has a twin sister, Alisha, who was also a member of the NU team (1997-1999), and two younger sisters A.J., a three-time All-American for the Huskers (2001, 2002), and Mandy. Lamb majored in speech pathology at Nebraska, and chose NU over Iowa, Iowa State and Southeast Missouri State. Arica was born on May 9, 1978, in Lincoln.
