She was named Academic All-Big Ten for the first time in 2017, and she earned a spot on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll in the fall and spring semesters of 2016-17. A standout outside of the gym, Kuo got off to a good start in the classroom as a freshman. She was named to the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll in the fall of 2015. Kuo was also named to the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team for her work in the community in 2016.
