Kylie Tanner was a Husker letterwinner in 2004. A native of Queensland, Australia, she only competed forthe Huskers during her freshman season. <?xml:namespace prefix="o" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office"?>
Freshman Season- Kylie was the last recruit to come aboard the 2004 NU squad. Even with extensive international experience Tanner saw limited action in the Husker lineups in her freshman campaign. She did make her debut on Jan. 23 at Iowa State where she scored an 8.95 on bars.
Prior- A senior elite gymnast and an Austrailian National Team member, Tanner competed for Southport Gymnastics Club/Queensland High Performance Centre under Stacey Umech-Lees and Vladimir Zakharov.
In 2002, she placed sixth overall at the Austrailian National Championships. She also competed in the Senior Pacific Alliance Trials, finishing fourth overall and third on beam.
In 2001, she competed in the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Ghent, Belgium. At the 2001 Women’s National Club & World Gymnastics Trials, she finished third overall and was selected as a member of the 2002 Australian National Team.
At the 2001 Australian National Championships, she finished fourth overall, second on vault, third on floor, fifth on beam and sixth on bars. Her team finished first overall.
Personal- The daughter of Vicki Tanner, Kylie was born on July 10, 1985, in Melbourne, Australia. A 2003 graduate of Moreton Bay College, Kylie has one older sister, Leigh.
