2018 (Freshman)
Karley Hutchinson appeared in five meets in two events during her first year with Nebraska. She competed in the first four meets of the year on vault, scoring a season-high 9.775 at Penn State and against Minnesota. She recorded a 9.125 in her lone appearance on floor at Oklahoma. She hit her season high again, helping the Huskers to a second-place finish at the Raleigh Regional, qualifying the team for the NCAA Semifinals on vault. A member of the 2018 Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll in the spring of 2018, Hutchinson was also a member of the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team in 2018.
Before Nebraska
Hutchinson trained alongside her twin sister Torri for coaches Tasha Beale and Nick Cedillo at Pearland Elite in Pearland, Texas. Hutchinson was a 2015 J.O. National Championships qualifier, and she earned a first place finish on floor exercise at the 2015 Region 3 Championships. She also posted a pair of top-10 finishes at the 2016 Region 3 Championships, finishing fifth on bars and tied for seventh on vault. Hutchinson also finished fifth on bars at the 2016 Texas State Championships. In 2017, she finished sixth on bars and seventh on vault at the Texas State Championships. She also competed at the 2017 Region 3 Championships, finishing tied for 12th on floor. Hutchinson chose Nebraska over Kent State and Southern Utah.
Personal
The daughter of Robert and Shawnda Hutchinson, Karley was born on Aug. 20, 1999. She has a twin sister, Torri, who is also a freshman on the Nebraska women's gymnastics team, an older sister, Amber, and an older brother, Derek. She graduated from Pearland High School in 2017, and she is undeclared on a major at Nebraska but she did earn a spot on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll in the spring of 2018. She was a member of the 2018 Tom Osborne Citizenship Team.
