2015 • Senior Season 
After suffering an injury in the pre-season, Amanda Lauer worked her way to the alternate lineups for beam in 2015. She competed in an exhibition on the event twice in the season, scoring a 9.875 at home against Oregon State March 7.

Lauer continued to demonstrate her leadership in the classroom after earning one of Nebraska’s Outstanding Scholar awards for holding a cumulative GPA of 3.9 or higher. She also was named a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar for the third consecutive year while sharing a prestigious Big Ten Postgraduate Scholarship with her twin sister, Jennifer.

2014 • Junior Season  
Lauer filled a number of roles for Nebraska in her junior season, contributing as a two-event specialist and a dependable leadoff on the most pressure-packed event. Lauer established herself early in 2014 as a beam specialist and never gave up her spot in the lineup. She tallied 14 routines on beam and never recorded a fall in the leadoff position. 

At the 2014 NCAA Championships, Lauer was the spark to NU’s historic beam lineup by putting together a seamless performance to claim a career-high 9.85 score. Her efforts propelled the Huskers to the Super Six Finals the following night.

Lauer came on strong toward the end of the season, moving into the bar lineup by adding clutch routines. She picked up her career-high 9.85 score at the Big Ten Championships in March. Lauer is also a standout in the classroom, collecting Academic All-Big Ten and Big Ten Distinguished Scholar honors.

2013 • Sophomore Season
Amanda Lauer has provided necessary depth to the Husker roster during the 2013 season. The sophomore saw exhibition competition several times on beam, posting a high score of 9.825 against Illinois. Lauer earned her first career Academic All-Big Ten award this spring at Nebraska.

2012 • Freshman Season
Lauer worked to increase her skill set and adjust to the competition level of collegiate gymnastics in her first year at Nebraska. She was recognized for her work in the classroom following the 2012 season, earning NACGC/W Scholastic All-America honors.

Before Nebraska
Lauer competed for coaches Mike Durante and Stephanie Kelly at Premiere Gymnastics in Omaha, Neb. Lauer was a Junior Olympic National Qualifier for two consecutive years (2009, 2010) and placed sixth on beam in 2010. Lauer was the 2010 Regional beam champion and placed second in the all-around. In addition, she was named the Nebraska beam champion at the state meet in 2010 and 2011, and the bars champion in 2011. Lauer placed fourth among Level 10 gymnasts at the 2011 Derby Classic, where she posted a 36.850 all-around score.

Personal
Lauer was born on March 30, 1993, in Colorado Springs, Colo. Lauer is the daughter of Dan and Kim Lauer, and has a twin sister, Jen, who is also on the team. Lauer was a 4.0 student at Sioux City East High School where she was also part of the National Honor Society. Lauer majored in nutrition science at Nebraska before earning her bachelor's degree in May of 2015. She was named a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar in 2013, 2014 and. She was also an academic All-Big Ten selection in 2013, 2014 and 2015. She is a six-time Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll member. Amanda also shared a Big Ten Postgraduate Scholarship with her twin sister, Jen, and both have plans to attend the University of Nebraska Medical Center.
