Lauren Welch participated in the Nebraska Tune-Up as she recorded a mark of 10-9 (3.28) in her lone pole vault appearance of the 2014 indoor season.
2013 (Sophomore)
Welch finished the 2013 indoor campaign with a season-best vault of 12-1 1/2 (3.70) at the Big Ten Indoor Championships... participated in four events during the 2013 outdoor season...posted a 15th place finish at the 2013 Big Ten Outdoor Championships in the pole vault competition with a height of 11-6 1/2 (3.52)... notched her top marks of the season in the pole vault by clearing 11-8 1/2 (3.57) in back-to-back meets in consecutive weeks at the Crimson Tide Invite and the Nebraska Quad...named a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar after earning academic All-Big Ten honors... claimed spots on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll in the fall and spring semesters of 2012-13.
2012 (Freshman)
Welch competed in seven meets during the indoor season... recorded an indoor season-best mark of 12-3 1/2 (3.75) in the pole vault at the Tyson Invitational on Feb. 10... finished with a mark of 12-2 3/4 (3.73) at the 2012 Big Ten Indoor Championships (13th)... competed in four meets during the outdoor season... recorded a season-best vault of 11-11 3/4 (3.65) at the K.T. Woodman Classic on April 14... was named to the fall 2011 and spring 2012 Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll.

Welch redshirted both the indoor and outdoor seasons in 2011.
Before Nebraska (Papillion-La Vista)
Arguably the top pole vaulter in the state of Nebraska, Welch capped her senior season at Papillion-La Vista High School by winning the All-Class Gold Medal... a three-time Class A state qualifier, she earned her first state medal in 2009 by tying for eighth with a vault of 10-0... hit her stride as a senior, winning the state title and setting the meet record with a vault of 12-0 1/4... was the only vaulter at the state meet to clear 12 feet, with the next closest competitor clearing 11-2... cleared 12-5 in the summer to win the young women’s division at the USATF Nebraska Junior Olympics.
