Jarren Heng earned a personal-best time of 8:39.04 in the 3,000 meters at the Razorback Spring Invite on March 30...also notched a personal-best in the 5,000 meters at the Big Ten Outdoor Championships with a mark of 14:59.35...crossed the finish line in ninth place at the 2013 Big Ten Outdoor Championships with a time of 9:02.83 in the 3,000 meter steeplechase...also posted the second-best 1,500 meters time of the season for the NU men with a time of 3:57.83 at the Nebraska Quad on March 13... earned academic All-Big Ten honors and calimed a spot on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll in the fall of 2012.

2012 (Sophomore)
Heng posted an indoor personal best of 8:14.78 in the 3,000 meters at the Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational... also recorded a personal-best time of 14:29.71 in the 5,000 meters at the Mark Colligan Memorial... recorded an outdoor personal-best time of 1:56.03 in the 800 meters at the Long Beach Invite on April 21... recorded a season-best of 3:52.47 in the 1,500 meters at the K.T. Woodman Classic... notched a personal-best time of 8:53.41 in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the Big Ten Outdoor Championships, finishing 10th... helped the men’s distance medley relay squad to a ninth-place finish at the Drake Relays, recording a time of 9:55.40... earned academic All-Big Ten honors and was named to the Nebraska fall 2011 Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll.

2011 (Freshman)
Heng competed in five meets during the indoor track and field season... recorded a personal-best 4:17.33 in the mile at the Nebraska Tune-Up... finished with a season best of 8:37.22 in the 3,000 meters at the Razorback Invitational, placing eighth... competed in five outdoor track and field meets... posted a season-best 9:14.02 in the 3,000 steeplechase at the Pepsi Invitational to finish in fifth place... finished 10th at the 2011 Big 12 Outdoor Track and Field Championships with a time of 9:16.23.

Before Nebraska (Norfolk Catholic)
Heng was an 18-time state medalist in track and cross country at Norfolk Catholic High School under coaches Tim Kassmeier and Doug Zoucha... made his first trip to the Nebraska state track meet in Class B as a sophomore in 2007, where he contributed to the Knights’ team title by placing eighth in the 1,600 meters and by running the third leg of the third-place 4x800 relay... won three medals in 2008 in the 1,600 meters (4th), 3,200 meters (6th) and 4x800 relay (6th)... won four medals in 2009, winning the 3,200 meters, taking second in the 1,600 meters, fourth in the 800 meters and as the anchor leg of the sixth-place 4x800 relay... capped his prep career by defending his state title in the 3,200 meters with a personal-best time of 9:29.20, while also placing second in the 1,600 and eighth in the 800 meters... ran the second leg of the third-place 4x800 relay... led the Knights to four straight Nebraska Class C team titles at the state cross country meet... placed fourth as a freshman in 2006 and second in 2007, before winning back-to-back individual and All-Class gold medals in 2008 and 2009... since the meet began in 1960, Norfolk Catholic is one of only three teams in state history on the boy’s side to win four consecutive team titles, joining Morrill (1979-82) and York (1992-95).

Parents are Jeff and Kristi Heng... born on Dec. 18, 1991... is a Spanish major at Nebraska.
