2011 (Junior)
Tara Korshoj (pronounced Tear-UH CORE-shaw) earned second-team All-America honors in the outdoor triple jump as a junior with a 15th-place finish and a mark of 41-6... competed as a sophomore during the outdoor track and field season... also competed in the long jump and triple jump at the 2011 Outdoor Big 12 Championships... finished ninth in the long jump with a mark of 19-8 1/4... finished ninth in the triple jump with a personal-best mark of 42-7.
2010 (Sophomore)
Korshoj provisionally qualified for the NCAA Indoor Championships in the triple jump at the Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational with a personal-best jump of 41-9 1/4... jumped 40-8 3/4 in the triple jump at the Big 12 Indoor Championships to place 10th and cleared a season-best 19-0 1/2 in the long jump to finish 12th... redshirted the outdoor season due to injury.
2009 (Freshman)
Korshoj cleared 41 feet in the triple jump at two of her five indoor meets... took first at the Tyson Invitational at 41-3... saved her best jumping for the Big 12 Indoor Championships where she placed ninth in the triple jump (41-4 1/4) and 11th in the long jump (19-1 1/2)... opened the outdoor season by breaking her previous best of 39-10 1/4 in the triple jump with a third-place leap of 40-1 1/2 at the Jim Click Shootout... earned another third-place finish at the John McDonnell Invitational with a regional-qualifying leap of 41-2 1/4... jumped 41-6 1/2 at the Nebraska Quad and Big 12 Outdoor Championships, earning All-Big 12 honors with a seventh-place finish at the conference meet... finished 14th at the NCAA Midwest Regional (41-6)... went on to compete at the USA Junior Championships in Eugene, Ore... finished fourth with a wind-aided jump of 41-8.
Before Nebraska (Millard West HS)
Korshoj produced a stellar high school career for Coach Seth Turman at Millard West High School, competing at her first Class A state meet as a freshman... placed second in the 400-meter dash and third in the long jump... returned as a sophomore to take the All-Class medal in the long jump (18-8 3/4) and triple jump (39-10 1/4) as well as winning the 400-meter dash (56.40), with the triple jump mark setting the Class A state record and meet record... finished third in the long jump at the state meet in 2007, despite being hampered by a stress fracture... returned in 2008 to win the triple jump... was a three-time letterwinner for the Millard West volleyball team... excelled in the classroom with a 4.0 GPA
Personal
Parents are former Nebraska track and field athletes Erik and Tami (Essington) Korshoj... father was a four-time letterwinner in the throws from 1978 to 1981 and mother earned three All-America honors and six Big Eight Championships while lettering from 1979 to 1982 as a middle distance runner... born March 27, 1990... majored is speech-language pathology and audiology... earned her bachelor's degree from Nebraska in December of 2012.
