Seth Wiedel battled to a runner-up showing at the 2014 Big Ten Indoor Championships in the long jump with a season-best tying mark of 24-7 ¼ (7.50)… recorded a personal-best leap of 48-10 ¼ (14.89) in the triple jump at the New Mexico Invitational on his way to a third place finish… claimed the top spot at the Mark Colligan Memorial with a mark of 24-5 ¾ (7.46) in the long jump… posted a season-best in the long jump of 24-7 ¼ (7.50) at the Tyson Invitational… also finished 11th in the triple jump at the league meet.
2013 (Junior/Sophomore)
Wiedel earned an eighth-place finish at the 2013 Big Ten Outdoor Championships in the long jump with a leap of 23-8 1/4 (7.08)... set a personal-best mark of 48-8 (14.63) in the triple jump at the 2013 Big Ten Outdoor Championships to finish in ninth place on May 12... posted a season-best time of 22.28 in the 200 meters at the Holiday Inn Invitational... recorded a season-best long jump of 23-3 1/2 (7.10) at the Nebraska Tune-Up... notched a personal-best triple jump of 45-10 3/4 (13.99) at the NWU Invite on Jan. 18...participated in seven meets during the 2013 outdoor season...set an outdoor long jump personal-best 24-0 1/4 (7.39) for third place at the Nebraska Quad on April 13...garnered top honors in the long jump at the Crimson Tide Invite with a mark of 23-4 (7.01)... named a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar after earning academic All-Big Ten honors... claimed spots on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll in the fall and spring semesters.

Wiedel competed in six meets during the indoor season... set a season-best long jump of 24-9 3/4 (7.56) at the Tyson Invitational on Feb. 10... finished fourth in the long jump at the 2012 Big Ten Indoor Championships, posting a mark of 24-7 (7.49)... recorded a personal-best time of 22.09 in the 200 meters at the Mark Colligan Memorial... notched an outdoor season-best jump of 23-0 1/2 (7.02) at the K.T. Woodman Classic on April 14... was an academic All-Big Ten selection... earned spots on the fall 2011 and spring 2012 Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll.

Wiedel completed his inaugural season as a Husker with a ninth-place showing at the 2011 Big 12 Indoor Championships on a 23-10 long jump... posted a personal-best 24-11 1/4 in the long jump at the Texas A&M Challenge... redshirted during the outdoor season.
Before Nebraska (Thayer Central)
Wiedel completed his prep career at Thayer Central High School in Hebron, Neb., as a three-time Class C state champion in triple jump and a two-time champion in the long jump... capped his career by breaking a 40-year-old record at the 2010 state meet... broke the state and meet record with a long jump of 23-8 1/2, which reset Bill Williams’ 1970 record of 23-1 1/4... placed 10th in the long jump (20-1) and 11th in the triple jump (42-0 3/4) as a freshman in 2007... returned as a sophomore with a winning jump of 45-7 in the triple jump and a runner-up leap of 21-10 1/2 in the long jump... defended his state title in the triple jump as a junior with a clearance of 45-11 1/4, won his first long jump title with a leap of 22-9 and added a second-place finish in the 200 meters (22.66)... successfully swept the horizontal jumps for the second straight year in 2010 with leaps of 23-8 1/2 and 45-1 1/4, while he added a second-place finish in the 200 (22.19) and third-place finish in the 100 (11.01).
