Before Nebraska (Lincoln East HS)
Michelle Fluitt (pronounced FLU-it) was a four-time participant at both the Nebraska Class A State Track and Field Championships and Class A Cross Country Championships for Lincoln East High School under coaches Brian Kabourek and John Gingery... member of the 4x800-meter relay team in freshman, sophomore and senior seasons... helped the team to a fourth-place finish in 2008... finished fifth in the 800 meters (2:21.34) and 1,600 meters (5:20.58) while also a member of the sixth-place 4x400-meter relay team (4:09.34) in 2007... finished 22nd at the state cross country meet as a freshman, helping the team to a seventh-place finish... was the Spartans’ top runner as a junior when the team finished runner up in Class A... finished 12th individually at the 2006 state cross country meet with a time of 15:36.14... missed most of the 2007-08 season with an injury during the fall and mononucleosis in the spring... chose Nebraska over Concordia (Neb.) and Nebraska-Kearney.

Parents are Mark and Cynthia Fluitt... mother earned four letters as a Husker in both cross country and track and field... father was an indoor national champion (4x800-meter relay) and three-time letterwinner in track and field while at Nebraska... born May 22, 1990... major is psychology.
