Samuel Ogden was once again plagued by a hamstring injury in 2008... competed just once during the entire year at the adidas Classic during the indoor season... cleared 15-5 (4.70) to finish seventh.
2007 (Redshirt Freshman)
Ogden did not compete for Nebraska due to a chronic hamstring injury.
2006 (Freshman)
Ogden redshirted both indoor and outdoor seasons during his first year at Nebraska... concluded his first season by competing in the USA Junior Championships, clearing 15-7 in the pole vault to tie for ninth place... set personal bests both indoors and outdoors while competing unattached... cleared his indoor best (16-6) at the Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational... opened outdoor season by finishing third with a career-best effort (16-10 3/4) at the Kansas Relays.
Before Nebraska (Grand Island Northwest HS)
Ogden put together an outstanding prep career in the pole vault at Grand Island Northwest High School under Coach Dave Gee... was the Nebraska Class B and All-Class Gold Medal champion in the pole vault his final two years with winning heights of 16-0 (2005) and 15-6 (2004)... tied former Husker Gable Baldwin’s state meet record of 16-0... cleared 16-0 as a junior at the 2004 Central Nebraska Conference meet in Crete, Neb... tied for fourth on the all-time Nebraska pole vault performance list... competed at the state meet as a sophomore and tied for seventh (13-6).
