2008 (Senior)
Following a redshirt season in 2007 to recover from should surgery, Kayla Wilkinson returned in 2008 to regain her post atop the Big 12 Conference in the javelin... started the season with a bang, breaking the facility record at the Jim Click Shootout on the campus of the University of Arizona with a toss of 179-7 (54.75)... posted victories the next two weeks at the John Jacobs Invitational and Kansas Relays... finished second at the Drake Relays... earned fourth victory of the season the following week at the Ward Haylett Invitational... broke her own school record at the Big 12 Championships to win third career title in the javelin... earned second All-America honor of career at the NCAA Outdoor Championships with a third-place finish... excelled in the classroom, earning third USTFCCCA All-Academic team honor... competed at the 2008 US Olympic Trials in Eugene, Ore... finished seventh with a toss of 173-0 (52.73).

Wikinson was forced to redshirt in 2007 following shoulder surgery.
2006 (Junior)
Wilkinson posted her first career NCAA All-America performance with a runner-up finish in the women’s javelin at the NCAA outdoor meet... recorded her top mark of the competition (178-10) on the second attempt to claim silver honors... followed the NCAA meet with her first appearance at the USATF Championships, where she earned bronze (171-7)... made her international debut following the USATF meet with an eighth-place showing (162-0) at the Norwich Union International in Birmingham, England... became the second repeat women’s javelin champion with a winning throw on her last attempt at the outdoor conference meet... stood in fourth place prior to her final launch... also matched NU’s last repeat conference winner, Nora Rockenbauer (1989-90 Big Eight champion)... broke former Husker Cassi Morelock’s school record by two inches at the Nebraska Invitational with a winning throw of 181-2... earned a trip to the NCAA outdoor meet with a third-place finish at the NCAA Midwest Regional (168-3)... opened the season at the Stanford Invite with a winning toss of 180-6, which was the nation’s top mark at the time... also posted victories at the Kansas Relays (167-4) and Ward Haylett Invite (165-6)... finished no lower than third during the season, while surpassing the regional-qualifying standard in each meet.
2005 (Sophomore)
Wilkinson won her first Big 12 crown in the javelin... qualified for her first NCAA Championships with a fourth-place showing at the Midwest Regional (162-6)... finished 14th during a rainy preliminary round at the NCAA outdoor meet... moved into second place on NU’s all-time new javelin chart with a throw of 174-4 to finish runner-up at the Drake Relays... opened the season with three straight gold-medal performances at the Stanford Invite (157-10), Emporia State Relays (174-3) and John Jacobs Invite (167-9)... also won the javelin at the Nebraska Invite (170-0)... reached the regional-qualifying standard in every meet in 2005.
2004 (Freshman)
Wilkinson claimed seventh place in the javelin at the Big 12 outdoor meet with a then-personal-best of 144-3... improved her best throw to 150-10 the next time out to win the Mid-States Invite... also collected gold at the Nebraska Quadrangular (136-6) and the Concordia Invite (130-5)... placed 17th with a throw of 137-2 to end her season at the Midwest Regional... earned silver at both the Jim Click Shootout (140-5) and Ward Haylett Invite (150-5)... placed third at the K.T. Woodman Classic (137-0).
High School (Belleville, Kan.)
Wilkinson set the Kansas Class 3A state meet record in the javelin with a throw of 140-3 under Coach Gary Lepo... threw 144-1 in the javelin at the Smith Center Invitational in 2003... took second place in the javelin at the 2002 Kansas Class 3A state meet as a junior... finished seventh at the 2003 Golden West Invite in <?xml:namespace prefix="st1" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags"?>Sacramento, Calif., with a javelin throw of 132-3... won the javelin bronze medal with a mark of 143-11 at the Kansas Relays.
