2009 (Redshirt Freshman)

After a year of transitioning into the combined events in 2008, Derrell Bradford competed in his first heptathlon at the Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational during the indoor season... set personal bests in four of the seven events, including the 60-meter dash (7.42), 60-meter hurdles (8.83), pole vault (11-7 3/4) and shot put (35-3 1/4)... posted a score of 4,664 points to finish fifth, the 15th-best performance all-time at Nebraska... struggled with injury during the outdoor season and was unable to finish a decathlon... set five personal bests throughout the season, including the 100-meter dash (12.03), 110-meter hurdles (15.91), shot put (32-7 1/2), discus (114-6) and javelin (115-11).

 

2008 (Freshman)

Bradford redshirted his first indoor and outdoor season at Nebraska to adjust to the combined events... competed unattached in four meets during the indoor season... set then-indoor personal bests in the 60-meter hurdles (9.22) and long jump (21-8 3/4) at the Prairie Wolf Invitational... competed unattached outdoors at the Nebraska Open, finishing 17th in the long jump with a leap of 19-7.

 

Before Nebraska (Omaha Northwest HS)

Bradford helped Omaha Northwest High School to a fourth-place team finish in the 2007 Nebraska Class A state championships... placed third in the long jump (21-11 1/2) and third in the high jump (6-3) at the state meet... also competed in the 300-meter hurdles and the 4x400-meter relay, but did not score... as a junior, placed sixth in the high jump (6-4) and eighth in the long jump (21-0)... set a personal best of 6-6 in the high jump at the 2007 Dennis Smith Invitational in Papillion... coached by Dave Plendl.
