2009 (Junior)
A team co-captain in 2009, Dan Christensen earned All-Big 12 honors for the third straight year indoors as a member of the 4x400-meter relay team that finished sixth at the conference meet with a time of 3:10.22... opened the year with a first-place finish in the 400 meters at the Holiday Inn Invitational, running a time of 48.01... set a personal best in the 400 at the adidas Classic with a time of 47.55 to place third... ran a leg of the 4x400-meter relay that took top honors at the Holiday Inn Invitational, Conference Challenge and ISU Classic... opened the outdoor season at the Jim Click Shootout where he finished fourth in the 400 meters (48.03)... posted a personal-best 400-meter time of 47.64 at the John McDonnell Invitational to finish fifth... ran on first-place 4x400-meter relay teams at the Nebraska Invitational, John McDonnell Invitational and Nebraska Quad... competed at the international level during the summer for Denmark, including a trip to the World University Games in Belgrade, Serbia.
2008 (Sophomore)
Christensen started his sophomore season on the right foot with a win in the 200 meters (21.96) at the Holiday Inn Invite... posted an indoor personal best in the 200 at the Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational (21.64)... finished seventh at the Big 12 Indoor Championships in the 400 meters with a time of 48.18 after a then-personal best of 48.03 in the preliminaries... ran the opening leg of the 4x400-meter relay that finished fourth (3:08.76) at the indoor conference meet and the third leg of the distance-medley relay team that finished eighth (10:09.67)... opened the outdoor season at the Jim Click Shootout with a sixth-place finish in the 400 meters... posted a personal-best wind-aided time in the 200 meters (21.18) at the John Jacobs Invitational to finish third... earned two more Big 12 medals at the outdoor conferece meet by running the third leg of the fifth-place 4x100-meter relay (40.21) and the first leg of the third-place 4x400-meter relay... competed at the NCAA Midwest Regional in the 4x400-meter relay, finishing sixth with time of 3:06.64.
2007 (Redshirt Freshman)
Christensen earned All-America status as a member of the Husker indoor 4x400-meter relay, which finished eighth at the NCAA Indoor Championships... helped the relay reach the NCAA indoor meet for the first time since 2004... was one of four freshmen among NU’s NCAA indoor qualifiers... ran the second leg for the season-best 3:07.90 squad that finished third at the Big 12 indoor meet, allowing the Huskers to share the team title... ran the 400-meter leg of the Huskers’ distance medley relay that finished seventh (9:49.09 oversize) at the Big 12 Indoor Championships... met the NCAA provisional standard with a third-place 4x400 time of 3:08.17 (oversize) at the Iowa State Classic... individually, ran a then-career-best 48.88 in the 400 at the same meet... posted a season-best 200-meter dash (21.93) to earn runner-up honors at the Nebraska Wesleyan Invitational... competed in just one outdoor meet, running a time of 48.67 in the 400-meter prelims at the Kansas Relays.
2006 (Freshman)
Christensen redshirted during both indoor and outdoor seasons in his first year at Nebraska... represented Denmark as the third leg on the Danes’ 4x400-meter relay at the World Junior Championships in Beijing, China, as the squad finished sixth of seven in the first of three qualifying heats with a time of 3:16.94... competed unattached in five meets during the indoor season, posting top times of 7.20 in the 60-meter dash (Holiday Inn Invitational) and 22.19 and 50.21 in the 200 and 400, respectively, at the Prairie Wolf Invitational... unattached outdoors, clocked a career-best 10.99 in the 100-meter dash at the Nebraska Invitational, while posting a time of 50.01 in the 400 at the Ward Haylett Invite.
Before Nebraska (Millard West HS)
Christensen qualified for the Nebraska Class A state meet in four events as a senior at Millard West High School for Coach Seth Turman... placed fifth individually in the 400 meters at the state meet with a time of 50.10 after running a prep-best time of 49.86 during the preliminary round... finished seventh in the 200 meters in 22.73... also ran on Millard West’s fourth-place 4x400-meter relay and seventh-place 4x100-meter relay... competed at the 2004 Class A state meet as a junior on the Wildcats’ 4x100-meter relay, but did not place... chose Nebraska over Illinois-Chicago, Miami, Iowa State and Arizona.
