2009 (Junior)

Ryan Petrocchi (pronounced Pe-TROACH-ee) topped the 200-foot mark three times in 2009 and qualified for his first regional meet... shattered his previous best of 199-0 by more than 10 feet with a second-place throw of 209-3 at the Nebraska Invitational... surpassed 200 feet at the next two meets with throws of 206-10 and 203-6 at the John McDonnell Invitational and Drake Relays, respectively... placed 10th at the Big 12 Outdoor Championships after being limited with a groin injury... ended the year with a 25th-place showing at the NCAA Midwest Regional.

 

2008 (Sophomore)

Petrocchi saw progress throughout the outdoor season, finishing with his first trip to the Big 12 Outdoor Championships... earned back-to-back fourth-place finishes in the javelin at the Jim Click Shootout (197-2) and the John Jacobs Invitational (178-7)... finished runner-up at the Nebraska Open (185-10)... set a then-personal best at the Nebraska Invitational with a throw of 199-0 to finish first... earned his first medal at the conference meet with a seventh-place finish (198-3).

 

2007 (Redshirt Freshman)

Petrocchi gained experience during his first competitive season at NU, throwing in six meets, setting a season best of 168-7 in the javelin... placed seventh at the John Jacobs Invite with the mark.

 

2006 (Freshman)

Petrocchi redshirted both indoor and outdoor seasons in his first year at Nebraska... competed once unattached, finishing seventh with a season-best throw at the Nebraska Invitational (168-0).

 

Before Nebraska (Ralston HS)

Petrocchi threw the shot put and discus at Ralston High School under coaches Jason Buckingham and Gary Dubbs... qualified for the 2005 Nebraska Class A state meet as a senior in both the shot put and discus... recorded a javelin best of 164-9 at the 2005 USATF Junior Olympics Region VIII Championships in Madison, Wis... notched a personal-best 163-3 in the discus to win the 2005 Willis Jones Invitational in Beatrice, Neb.
