2003: Jason Thompson had a stellar first season in Lincoln after transferring from Kansas City Community College for the spring semester... jumped 50-4 at the Big 12 Indoor Championships in the triple jump for a fifth-place finish... won the Holiday Inn Invitational (49-4 1/4)... took sixth place at the adidas Classic... had an even better outdoor season winning silver at the Big 12 Outdoor Championships with a career-best jump of 51-1... finished one spot shy of qualifying for the NCAA Outdoor Championships, with a sixth-place finish at the NCAA Midwest Regional with a leap of 50-6... jumped 47-7 1/4 to win the Ward Haylett Invitational. At Kansas City Community College: Placed fourth with a mark of 50-1 3/4 in the triple jump at the 2002 NJCAA Indoor Championships... bounded to a wind-aided (49-2 1/4) sixth-place performance in the 2002 NJCAA Outdoor Championships... best outdoor performance of 2002 was a 49-9 jump. High School: Qualified for the 1999 Missouri Class 4A State Championships as a senior in the high jump and triple jump, but did not score in either event... placed third in the 1999 National AAU Junior Olympics with a jump of 46-8.
