2006: Casie Witte (pronounced Casey WIT-tee) enters her senior season as one of the Big 12’s top combined events athletes after utilizing a redshirt season to mend a broken arm. 2005: Witte helped Nebraska sweep the top three spots in the Big 12 outdoor heptathlon competition with a personal-best score of 5,138 points... also tied for eighth in the outdoor high jump... made a career-best 5-10 during the jump-off at the NCAA Midwest Regional to advance to the national outdoor meet... just missed advancing to the finals at the NCAA meet by tying for 16th during the preliminary round with a leap of 5-9 3/4... won the high jump at the Emporia State Relays with a then personal-best jump of 5-9 3/4... also won the event at the Doane Relays (5-8 3/4)... registered her first regional-qualifying mark in the high jump after clearing 5-8 3/4 for a fourth-place finish at the Stanford Invitational... set her first career NCAA provisional-qualifying mark in the heptathlon at the Audrey Walton Combined Events with a seventh-place score of 5,072... opened the outdoor season with a sixth-place showing in the heptathlon at the Cal Multi-Events... placed fifth in the Drake Relays heptathlon... also competed in the javelin at the Big 12 outdoor meet, finishing 10th... finished fifth in the pentathlon at the Big 12 indoor meet with a career-best total, while tying for fourth in the high jump... recorded an eighth-place total of 3,422 points at the Frank Sevigne Husker Invite... ran a leg on NU’s winning distance medley relay at the Holiday Inn Invite (12:00.59)... opened the indoor season with a fifth-place total of 3,506 points at the Carol Robinson Winter Pentathlon. 2004: Witte set then-personal records in both the pentathlon and heptathlon during the 2004 season... claimed sixth place in the heptathlon with a 4,732 points at the Big 12 outdoor meet, while setting a former personal record in the javelin (127-0)... set then-career bests in the 800 meters (2:30.23) and long jump (17-9 3/4) on her way to tallying 3,541 points in the pentathlon, earning seventh place at the indoor conference meet... collected bronze in the pentathlon (3,322) to open her indoor season at the Panther Open... concluded her outdoor season with an eighth-place finish in the heptathlon (4,696) at the Audrey Walton Combined Events. 2003: Witte scored a then-career-high 3,533 points in the pentathlon at the Big 12 indoor meet to finish ninth... cleared a height of 5-8 1/2 in the high jump twice at the KSU Open and the Big 12 indoor meet... ran a season-best 9.08 in the 60-meter hurdles in the Big 12 pentathlon... took 10th place in the Big 12 outdoor heptathlon, with 4,725 points... tied for 10th in the high jump with a mark of 5-7 1/4 at the Midwest Regional.
