2004: Eric Rasmussen came down with a virus near the middle of the indoor season that limited his effectiveness for the rest of the year... set a personal-best of 4:19.95 in the indoor mile to finish third at the Tiger Classic... recorded a career-best time of
8:24.63 in the 3,000 meters at the adidas Classic... claimed respective finishes of fourth and fifth in the indoor 5,000 meters at the Holiday Inn Invitational (14:40.57) and Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational (14:38.56)... won the 5,000 meters outdoors at the Nebraska Wesleyan Twilight in 15:17.4. 2003: Rasmussen made large improvements in his sophomore season... skimmed more than 19 seconds off his career-best time in the 3,000 meters indoors, recording a PR of 8:29.35 at the adidas Classic... took more than 18 seconds off his lifetime-best time in the 5,000, clocking a time of 14:31.35 to lead the team at the Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational with a third-place finish... finished eighth in the 5,000 (14:47.84) at the Holiday Inn Invitational... finished 11th in the 5k at the Big 12 Indoor Championships with a time of 14:57.24... knocked off more than 30 seconds from his best 10,000-meter time outdoors at the Stanford Invitational... ran a season-best time of 14:43.60 in the 5k at the Kansas Relays... notched a personal-best time of 4:00.35 in the 1,500 meters at the K.T. Woodman Classic... took ninth place in the 10,000 at the Big 12 Outdoor Championships. 2002: Best performance in 2002 came at the Drake Relays, where he finished sixth (30:38.74) in the 10,000 meters... ran his best 5,000 meter race outdoors in 15:00.42 at the K.T. Woodman Classic... finished 13th at the Big 12 Outdoor Championships in the 10,000 meters... indoors, posted a season-best time in the 5,000 meters with a mark of 14:49.62 at the Nebraska Last Chance Meet. 2001: Redshirted. High School: Was the 2000 Nebraska Class A 3,200-meter champion, posting a season-best time of 9:15.11... finished second in the 1,600 meters (4:24.40) at the 2000 Nebraska Class A state meet... placed sixth in the 1,600 meters (4:24.13) and second in the 3,200 meters (9:28.57) at the 1999 Class A state meet... was the 1999 USATF National Junior Olympics 5,000-meter runner-up (15:21.90).
