Guy Reed served as head track and field coach at Nebraska from 1912-16. He led the Huskers to a high Missouri Valley Conference placing of second during his first season and coached David Reavis, NU's first-ever three-time individial conference champion, in the pole vault (1913-15). Nebraska also recorded an individual conference win in the 4x440-yard relay during his first season in a time of 3:27.4.
