Kellen McClure continued to make improvements during his first year competing as a Husker by setting personal bests in the high jump both indoors and outdoors... competed at four meets during the indoor season, including a runner-up performance at the NWU Invitational where he jumped 6-5 1/2... broke his previous best of 6-6 1/4 at the adidas Classic with a clearance of 6-6 3/4... finished in the top 10 at all six of his outdoor meets... improved on his previous best of 6-8 at the Nebraska Invitational with a leap of 6-8 3/4.
2008 (Freshman)
McClure redshirted his first year at Nebraska to grow under legendary Jump Coach Gary Pepin... competed five times as an unattached athlete during the indoor season, recording a top jump of 6-6 1/4 to tie for 11th at the Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational... competed at both home meets during the outdoor season, finishing fourth at the Nebraska Open and sixth at the Nebraska Invitational with a clearance of 6-6 3/4 at each meet.
Before Nebraska (Wisner-Pilger HS)
McClure won the 2006 Nebraska Class C State high jump championship with a season-best 6-7 leap under coaches Larry Boekelman and Norman Weber... was runner-up in the 2007 high jump with the same height as the winner (6-5)... recorded a then-career best of 6-8 in the 2007 Class C-3 District Championship... also qualified for the state meet as a freshman and sophomore but did not score either year... was a member of National Honor Society... chose Nebraska over Doane and Northern Iowa.

Parents are Kevin and Holly McClure... brother, Mychael, is a member of the Nebraska football team... born Dec. 10, 1988... majors are marketing and management.
