Before Nebraska (Kearney HS)

Josh Mead joins the Huskers as a three-year qualifier and eight-time medalist at the Nebraska Class A State Track and Field Championships under Coach Roger Mathisen... was a member of the Bearcats’ back-to-back state championship teams in 2008 and 2009, as well the runner-up squad in 2007... made his first appearance at the state meet in 2007 as a member of the fourth-place 4x100 relay... returned as a junior to place third in the 100 meters (10.92), fifth in the 200 meters (22.51) and ran the anchor leg of the first-place 4x100 relay... earned four medals as senior... placed sixth in the 100 meters (11.03), fourth in the 200 meters (22.38), ran the anchor of the second-place 4x400 relay and the second leg of the third-place 4x100 relay... ran personal bests in the 100 (10.85) and 200 (22.13) meters at the 2008 Kearney Invitational... chose Nebraska over Nebraska-Kearney and Nebraska Wesleyan.
