2022-23: Junior
Vivien Sandberg competed in 14 singles matches this season. She played at two different positions and posted a 1-0 mark at No. 6 and a 1-1 mark at No. 5. She earned a 2-1 overall doubles record with her partners Isabel Adrover Gallego and Lucy Loy. 
 
Off the court, Sandberg earned a spot on the 2023 Tom Osborne Citizenship Team.

2021-22: Sophomore
Sandberg saw action in her sophomore season at Nebraska. She finished with an overall singles record of 4-4. In doubles, she went 3-3 on the season and was partnered with Jillian Roa, Lucy Loy and Jessican Aragon.  

In the classroom, Sandberg earned Academic All-Big Ten accolades and was named to the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll. She was also a member of the 2022 Tom Osborne Citizenship Team.

2020-21: Freshman 
Sandberg, a native of Ahaus, Germany, saw action in her freshman season at Nebraska. She finished with an overall singles record of 0-4. In doubles, she went 1-4 on the season and was partnered with Jessica Aragon, Chloe Kuckelman, Kristina Novak and Maja Makoric, including a 1-0 mark paired with Makoric.

In the classroom, Sandberg was named to the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll for her academic success in the fall and spring semesters.

Before Nebraska
Sandberg joined the Huskers from Ahaus, Germany. Previously, Sandberg trained at both the Approach Tennis Academy in Enschede, Netherlands, with coaches Geerco Holtkamp and Add Lüttikhues and at the MKG-Tennis Academy in Cologne, Germany, under the tutelage of Marc-Kevin Goellner and his wife Syna Goellner-Schreiber. Sandberg holds a German U18 ranking of No. 8. Her accolades include a Westphalia junior singles and doubles championship in 2016. In 2018 Sandberg finished fifth at the North-East German Women's Championships. In 2019, Sandberg won the Berlin-Brandenburg team championship and made the doubles semifinals of the Oldenzaal ITF 15k. She also competed with her club, TC Union Münster. Sandberg chose Nebraska over Northern Arizona and the University of Memphis.

Personal
A business administration major, Sandberg earned her bachelor's degree from Nebraska in May of 2023. She is a two-time Big Ten Distinguished Scholar and a two-time Academic All-Big Ten choice. She is a five-time Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll selection. She is also a three-time member of the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team.
