Morgan McCafferty

Morgan McCafferty enters her second season as a graduate assistant with the Nebraska swimming and diving program in 2020-21. McCafferty was a four-year letterwinner for the Huskers (2016-19). The Huskers finished among the top 40 teams at the NCAA Championships all four years.

In her first season as a graduate assistant, three Husker swimmers (Madison Coughlen, Audrey Coffey, Autumn Haebig) captured CSCAA All-America honors along with diver Sara Troyer.

As a senior, McCafferty helped the Huskers to their best finish at the Big Ten Championships since joining the conference in 2012. She concluded her career with a pair of 33rd-place individual finishes in the 100 and 200 backstroke at the 2019 Big Ten meet.

As a junior, she finished 27th in the 100 butterfly at the 2018 Big Ten Championships and added back-to-back 28th-place finishes in the 200 IM in 2017 and 2018. McCafferty competed in the 100-meter back at the U.S. Olympic Trials in Omaha in 2016.

The Reynoldsburg, Ohio, native was a three-time academic All-Big Ten selection as a Husker before earning her bachelor’s degree as a social science education major at Nebraska in May of 2019. She was a six-time member of the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll and a four-time Tom Osborne Citizenship Team selection.
