2015-16 (Senior)
Taryn Collura finished strong in her final season as a Husker, capturing 18 victories among her 21 top-10 finishes. Collura claimed nine titles in the 50-yard freestyle, while adding six victories in the 100 freestyle. During the Last Chance Meet, Collura earned a career best in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 48.87 in the prelims. She added a record in the 100-yard butterfly at the 2016 Big Ten Championships, taking fifth with a time of 53.21. Collura was also a star in the classroom, earning academic All-Big Ten honors for the third consecutive year before being named a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar in 2016. She also claimed her third straight spot on the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team.

2014-15 (Junior)
Collura continued to be one of Nebraska’s top swimmers during her junior campaign. She notched 17 top-five finishes, along with eight victories. Collura had a phenomenal performance at the 2015 Big Ten Championships, securing three top-20 finishes, as well as two NCAA B Cuts. Her highest conference finish came in the 100-yard butterfly where her career-best time of 53.50 was good enough for 12th-place and an NCAA B Cut. Collura also notched a 14th-place finish at the conference meet in the 100-yard freestyle. Collura saw success in the classroom as well, earning academic All-Big Ten honors in 2015.

2013-14 (Sophomore)
Collura competed in three events for the Huskers as a sophomore. She racked up 16 top-five finishes, including eight wins. Collura was Nebraska’s top 100-yard freestyler, notching five victories in the event. She set career bests in two of her events. Collura swam times of 49.30 in the 100-yard freestyle, earning her sole possesion of third place on the all-time Nebraska list, and 54.07 in the 100-yard fly. A standout in the classroom, Collura earned academic All-Big Ten honors.

2012-13 (Redshirt Freshman)
Collura produced a phenomenal debut season in 2012-13 for the Huskers. Collura recorded 16 top-five finishes and eight event victories for the Huskers on the year, including five wins in the 50-yard freestyle alone. She set then-career-best times in the 50 free, 100 free and 100 fly at the Big Ten Championships, finishing sixth, 13th and 20th, respectively. Collura’s time of 49.45 seconds in the 100-yard freestyle earned her a tie for third on the all-time Nebraska list. After swimming a school-record 22.42 in the 50-yard freestyle at the Big Ten Championships, Collura qualified for the NCAA Championships in Indianapolis, Ind. With a time of 22.62, Collura finished 33rd in the event. The redshirt freshman also competed in the 100-yard freestyle at the national meet, finishing 56th with a time of 50.08. In addition, Collura was a part of Husker relay history at the 2013 Big Ten Championships, helping three relays to school-record times. Along with Hayley Martin, Shannon Guy and Ariel Weech, Collura helped set record times of 1:30.11 in the 200-yard freestyle relay, 3:18.10 in the 400-yard freestyle relay, and 1:39.13 in the 200-yard medley relay at the conference meet.

2011-12 (Redshirt)
Collura did not compete in 2011-12.

Previous
Collura came to Nebraska as a three-time Arizona high school state champion. She won the 100-yard freestyle twice in her career (2008, 2010) and the 50-yard freestyle once (2010). She also competed nationally at multiple U.S. Open and Junior National meets that featured both long course and short course pools. Collura was a member of the Phoenix Swim Club and earned selection as a 2009, 2010 and 2011 Scholastic All-American. She also posted an Olympic Trial cut in the 50-yard freestyle (26.26) in July of 2012.

Personal
Taryn was born on Aug. 28, 1993. She is the daughter of Pam and Joe Collura and has one sister, Maddie. Taryn majored in psychology and earned her bachelor's degree in May of 2016. A Big Ten Distinguished Scholar in 2016, she captured academic All-Big Ten honors in 2014, 2015 and 2016. A six-time member of the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll, Taryn also claimed spots on the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team in 2014, 2015 and 2016.
