Shannon Guy is in her second year as an academic intern at Nebraska.

Guy is responsible for mentoring 23 freshmen and transfer students from the sports of baseball, men’s gymnastics, men’s tennis, women’s tennis, wrestling and volleyball. Guy works with the tutoring program as well, conducting tutorial interviews, coordinating orientations and presenting about GradesFirst. Guy is responsible for organizing, ordering and handing out participation awards and the second and third letterwinner awards.

Guy graduated in December of 2014 from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and is currently working on a master’s degree in higher education administration.

Guy competed as a swimmer on Nebraska's swimming and diving team. She competed in the 2012 Olympic trials. Guy was a three time Academic All-Big Ten team selection and earned a Nebraska Student-Athlete Hero Leadership Award in 2014.       Â
