2013-14 (Senior)
Morgan Flannigan finished an outstanding four-year Husker career in 2013-14.  She recorded 12 top-five finishes as a senior, pushing her career total to 44.  With a career-best time of 1:50.44 in the 200-yard freestyle at the the Big Ten Championships and another career best time of 4:52.37 in the 500-yard freestyle, she earned 39th and 34th, respectively, at the conference meet.  Flannigan also picked up two victories in her final season, both of them coming in the 1,000-yard freestyle against South Dakota State and Northern Iowa.

Flannigan continued to shine in the classroom, capturing academic All-Big Ten honors for the third consecutive year. She was also an inaugural member of the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team in 2014, while helping the swimming and diving team to its third consecutive Nebraska Life Skills Team Award.

2012-13 (Junior)
Flannigan produced another strong season for the Huskers in 2012-13, recording 12 top-five finishes and three event victories across five events. Flannigan won the 200- (1:55.18) and 500-yard (5:11.34) freestyles against Nebraska-Omaha and took the 1,000-yard freestyle crown against Northern Iowa with a time of 10:29.06. She also set career-best times of 10:23.63 in the 1,000 free against San Diego State and 16:48.48 in the 1,650 free at the 2013 Big Ten Championships.

Flannigan continued to perform well in the classroom, claiming academic All-Big Ten honors for the second consecutive season.

2011-12 (Sophomore)
Flannigan gave the Huskers a solid go-to option in the freestyle events in 2011-12. The Lawrence, Kan., native earned nine top-five finishes during her sophomore campaign, with her most success coming in the 500-yard freestyle. Flannigan finished the season strong, recording season-best times at the Big Ten Championships in the 200-, 500- and 1,650-yard freestyle.

Flannigan also performed well in the classroom for the Huskers, earning academic All-Big Ten honors. She also claimed a spot on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll in the fall of 2011.

2010-11 (Freshman)
Flannigan made an immediate impact as a Husker freshman by notching 11 top-five finishes, including a win against South Dakota in the 800-yard freestyle (9:17.18). Flannigan also earned a second-place finish against Nevada in the 100-yard freestyle, though her fastest time in the event came against both Wyoming and North Dakota at 10:27.67. Flannigan’s most impressive performance of the season came at the Big 12 Championships where she finished ninth in the 1,650 freestyle in 16:51.62.

In the classroom, Flannigan earned a spot on the fall 2010 Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll.

Previous
Flannigan had a successful high school career at Lawrence Free State High School. She was a major contributor in winning a Kansas 6A State Championship in 2009 and finished second in the 200-yard freestyle event in 2010 after finishing third in the event the previous two years. At the 2010 state championships, Flannigan helped her relay team to a title in the 200-yard medley relay. She also finished second in the 500-yard freestyle at the 2010 state meet and was a member of the Kansas state record-holding 200-yard medley and 400-yard freestyle relay teams.

Personal
Morgan was born on May 12, 1992, in Lawrence, Kan. She is the daughter of Kevin and Jana Flannigan and has one brother, Spencer. A biological sciences major at Nebraska, Flannigan claimed academic All-Big Ten honors in 2012, 2013 and 2014. She also earned a spot on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll twice and was a Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll selection in the fall of 2010. Flannigan was also an inaugural member of the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team in 2014, while helping the swimming and diving program to its third consecutive Nebraska Life Skills Team Award.
