2013-14 (Senior)
Ashleigh Grammar set three career bests in her final season as a Husker.  Two of her career bests came at the Hawkeye Invite, where the senior swimmer set career-best times in the 100-yard freestyle (53.92) and in the 400-yard individual medley (4:34.79).  Grammar also recorded five top-five finishes, including a third-place performance in the 1,000-yard freestyle against South Dakota State.

In addition to her success in the pool, Grammar earned Academic All-Big Ten honors for the third consecutive year.

2012-13 (Junior)
Grammar once again showed her versatility in 2012-13, competing in nine different events as a junior. Grammar earned nine top-10 finishes on the season and finished in the top six on all three occasions she competed in the 1,000-yard freestyle for the Huskers. Her most success came at the Iowa Invitational in December, where she set then-career-best times in both the 200- (2:11.59) and 400-yard (4:35.27) individual medleys.

In the classroom, Grammar earned her second academic All-Big Ten award.

2011-12 (Sophomore)
Grammar continued to improve for the Huskers in the freestyle and butterfly events during her sophomore season, notching a third-place finish in the 1,000-yard freestyle against UNO in 10:58.50. The St. Louis, Mo., native also set a then-career-best time in the 1,000-yard freestyle against Iowa State (10:45.71).

Grammar excelled in the classroom, earning academic All-Big Ten honors in 2012, while also claiming spots on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll in both the fall of 2011 and spring of 2012.

2010-11 (Freshman)
Grammar provided depth at the freestyle position, especially in the 500 and the 1,000, as a freshman in 2010-11. She earned a victory in the 500-yard freestyle against UNO, setting a then-career-best mark (5:15.07) in the process. Grammar also earned a pair of second-place finishes against UNO and South Dakota in the 800- and 1,000-yard freestyle, respectively. She showed her all-around skills by competing in 11 different events over the course of the year and demonstrated her ability to work in the classroom by earning spots on the Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll in both the fall and spring semesters.

Previous
Grammar came to Nebraska from Lafayette High School in St. Louis, Mo. In the 2010 Missouri State Championships, she placed three times, including a state title in the 400-yard freestyle relay and a third-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay to help Lafayette to a state team title. Grammar also finished eighth in the 200-yard individual medley. 

Personal
Ashleigh was born on Nov. 8, 1991, in Atlanta, Ga. She is the daughter of Michael and Barbara Grammar and has one sister, Amanda. A biological sciences, Ashleigh was a three-time academic All-Big Ten selection (2012, 2013, 2014). She earned spots on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll five-times. Grammar was a two-time Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll selection in 2010-11. Grammar was also an inaugural member of the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team in 2014, while helping the swimming and diving program to its third consecutive Nebraska Life Skills Team Award.
