  • Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll (Fall 2012; Spring 2013)

2012-13 (Freshman)
Savannah Wagner made the transition to collegiate swimming in 2012-13, competing just six times as a freshman. She posted her top finish with a ninth-place showing in the 50-yard freestyle (28.97) against Nebraska-Omaha in October. However, her best time in the event came against Northern Iowa (28.91). Wagner also set personal-best times in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:15.39) and 200 breast (2:41.70) during the season.

Wagner starred in the classroom as well, earning spots on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll in the fall and spring semesters of 2012-13.

Previous
Wagner earned three letters swimming for Clarkstown South High School in West Nyack, New York, finishing her career as team captain. She also earned All-County honors helping her team to an undefeated season in 2011-12. Excelling in the short distance events, Wagner was a section finalist in the 100-yard breaststroke. She also swam for the New York Sharks swim club coached by her father, Don. 

Personal
Savannah was born on March 22, 1994, in Fullerton, Calif., but she has also lived in Texas, Alabama, Pennsylvania and New York. She is the daughter of Don and Alice Wagner and has one younger brother, Ryan. Savannah follows her father, who swam at the University of Nebraska from 1973 to 1975. She is majoring in nutrition and earned a spot on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll in the fall and spring semesters of 2012-13.
