2012-13 (Senior)
Kelsey Larson finished an outstanding four-year Husker career in 2012-13. After posting seven top-five finishes as a senior, Larson pushed her career total to 51. With a career-best time of 1:04.35 in the 100-yard breaststroke, she took 34th at the Big Ten Championships in Minneapolis. Larson also set a season best in the 200-yard breaststroke at the conference meet, finishing in 2:17.96 and earning 26th place.

Larson wrapped up a brilliant academic career with her second straight academic All-Big Ten honors and her third straight academic all-conference selection. Her community outreach efforts earned Larson a third straight Nebraska Student-Athlete HERO Leadership Award. She was also one of three Husker athletes to share the 2013 Heart & Soul Award, the highest life skills honor at Nebraska.

2011-12 (Junior)
Larson continued in her role as one of the Huskers' most versatile swimmers in 2011-12. The junior from Newport Beach, Calif., increased her career total to 44 top-five finishes with eight top-five showings on the year. She swam in seven different events, including four top-five finishes in the 200-yard breaststroke.

A standout in the classroom, Larson earned academic All-Big Ten honors in 2012. She also claimed spots on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll in both the fall and spring semesters of 2011-12. One of the top Huskers across all sports in community outreach as well, Larson earned a prestigious Nebraska Student-Athlete HERO Leadership Award for the second straight year in 2012.

2010-11 (Sophomore)
Larson earned 15 top-five finishes on the year to rank among the Husker leaders. She earned top-five finishes in four of the five events she swam during the season, with her best dual coming at Nevada, when she captured a pair of victories in the 100- and 200-yard breaststrokes. The sophomore set two career-best times on the season as well, reaching top marks in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:04.97) and 200-yard IM (2:04.91).

Larson performed well in the classroom as well, earning first-team academic All-Big 12 accolades and spots on the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll in both the fall and spring semesters of 2010-11. She was also chosen as one of Nebraska's 30 HERO Student-Athlete Leadership Award recipients for her commitment to the Huskers' Life Skills program.

2009-10 Season (Freshman)
Larson tallied 21 top-five finishes across her eight events in 2009-10. She notched wins in the 200-yard breaststroke against Illinois and South Dakota, while adding nine runner-up finishes. A strong academic performer as well, Larson earned selection to the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll in both the fall and spring semesters.

Previous
Larson was team co-captain at Corona Del Mar High School in 2009, when she qualified for the 100-yard breaststroke, 200-yard IM, 100-yard back and the 50-, 100-, 200- and 500-yard freestyles in the CIF state meet. She was also her high school team's MVP in 2008 and 2009. A USA Swimming High School Scholastic All-American in 2007, 2008 and 2009, Larson won a 2009 Academic Lamp award with highest honors after achieving a 4.0 GPA or above for every semester she was in high school. She graduated with a GPA of 4.267.

Personal
The daughter of Bruce and Jackie Larson, Kelsey was born on July 25, 1991, in Newport Beach, Calif. Kelsey has one brother, Garrett, and one sister, Nicole. Kelsey earned her bachelor's degree from Nebraska in May of 2013, after majoring in biochemistry with minors in chemistry, English and mathematics. She claimed academic All-Big Ten honors in 2012 and 2013 after capturing first-team academic All-Big 12 honors in 2011. Larson earned spots on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll in the fall of 2011 and 2012, and following the spring semester of 2012. She was a four-time member of the Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll. One of Nebraska’s top performers in community outreach, Larson was a three-time recipient of the prestigious Nebraska Student-Athlete HERO Leadership Award and a 2013 recipient of the Nebraska Heart & Soul Award - NU's top individual Life Skills award.
