2012-13 (Senior)
Hayley Martin capped an impressive Husker career by winning 11 individual event titles and 24 top-five finishes as a senior. In addition, Martin set a school-record time of 53.81 in the 100-yard backstroke at the 2013 Big Ten Championships. She was also a part of school-record relay times in the 200-yard freestyle (1:30.11), 400-yard freestyle (3:18.10), 200-yard medley (1:39.13), and 400-yard medley (3:39.36) relays at the conference meet. Martin set five career-best times on the season, including her school record, and finished with 26 victories and 74 top-five finishes in her career at Nebraska.

She also performed well in the classroom, earning spots on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll in both the fall and spring semesters of 2012-13.

2011-12 (Junior)
Martin finished a successful 2011-12 by recording 17 top-five finishes. The junior from Monona, Wis., won eight individual titles across four events. The freestyle and backstroke specialist won events against five opposing teams over the course of the season.

A standout in the classroom, Martin earned spots on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll in both the fall and spring semesters of 2011-12.

2010-11 (Sophomore)
Martin showed dramatic improvement as a sophomore for the Huskers. She was one of three Nebraska swimmers to tally more than 20 top-five finishes (21). She also combined for 16 top-two finishes, including seven event titles in four different events. She participated on the 400-yard freestyle relay team that stamped its place in the Nebraska record book with the then-fifth-best time in history (3:22.20).

In the classroom, Martin earned first-team academic All-Big 12 accolades.

2009-10 (Freshman)
Martin emerged as a solid sprint freestyler as a freshman, racking up 12 top-five finishes in eight events during the season. She set personal bests in the 100-yard freestyle and 100-yard backstroke at the 2010 Big 12 Championships.

Previous
Martin was one of Monona Grove High School's best all-time swimmers, setting eight of the team’s 11 records in the pool. She placed first in the 50-yard freestyle in the 2008 Wisconsin state meet and helped a state-record-setting 200-yard freestyle relay team at the same meet. Martin was named first-team all-state three times in high school and was named the 2008-09 Female Athlete of the Year at Monona Grove. She was a member of the honor roll her junior and senior years.

Personal
Hayley was born on Sept. 12, 1990, in Madison, Wis. She is the daughter of Charles Martin and Sunny Schubert and has one brother, Henry. A fisheries and wildlife (zoo animal care and conservation biology) major, Hayley earned her bachelor's degree from Nebraska in December of 2013. She earned first-team academic All-Big 12 honors as a sophomore. She claimed spots on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll in both the fall and spring semesters of 2011-12 and 2012-13. She was also a member of the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll in the spring of 2010.
