2011-12 (Senior)
Riley Seidel (pronounced SY-del)finished her career at Nebraska in impressive fashion, competing in eight different events over the course of the season and earning four top-five finishes. She captured an event title by winning the 1,000-yard freestyle against UNO.

A standout in the classroom, Seidel earned academic All-Big Ten honors as a senior, while also claiming spots on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll in both the fall and spring semesters of 2011-12.

2010-11 (Junior)
Seidel performed at her highest level at the 2011 Big 12 Championships, setting three career-best times in the 500- and 1,650-freestyle along with the 400 individual medley. Seidel added a victory in the 1,000 free against UNO, while adding a second-place showing in the 500 free against the Mavericks.

The La Crosse, Wis., native, also earned spots on the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll in both the fall and spring semesters of 2010-11. 

2009-10 (Sophomore)
Seidel made improvements in nearly every facet as a sophomore. She set three season-best times at the 2010 Big 12 Championships in each of her three events (500 free, 1,650 free, 400 IM). Seidel's best meet came against South Dakota when she notched a third-place finish in the 1,000-yard freestyle and a fifth-place finish in the 200-yard backstroke.

2008-09 (Freshman)
Seidel made major strides toward the end of her freshman season to become a solid performer for the Huskers. Seidel's best meet of the season came against UNO, when she won a title in the 1,000-yard freestyle. Seidel primarily swam in the distance freestyle and individual medley events in 2008-09. She had the fourth-fastest 1,650-yard freestyle time on the team, which she set with a 17th-place finish at the 2009 Big 12 Championships. Seidel produced three season-best times at the conference meet, when she also finished 25th in the 400-yard IM.

Previous
Seidel was a four-time team MVP for the La Crosse Central High School swim team, and was a three-time WIAA Division I state qualifier. She was a four-year varsity letterwinner in swimming. She also took home numerous academic accolades. Seidel was a four-time member of the All-Academic Sports Team, a four-year Academic Achievement Award winner and she graduated in the top five percent of her class.

Personal
Riley was born on June 22, 1990, in La Crosse, Wis. She is the daughter of Richard and Linda Seidel and has one brother, R.J. Riley majored in marketing at Nebraska and earned her bachelor's degree in December of 2012. She claimed academic All-Big Ten honors as a senior in 2012. She captured spots on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll in the fall of 2011 and 2012, and the spring semester of 2012, and was a five-time member of the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll.
