2011-12 (Senior)
Caroline Shea competed in seven different events for the Huskers during her senior campaign. The Denver native earned seven top-five finishes in her final year of competition. Shea set a career-best time in the 200-yard freestyle (1:51.87) at the 2012 Big Ten Championships.

In the classroom, Shea earned academic All-Big Ten honors while adding spots on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll in both the fall and spring semesters of 2011-12.

2010-11 (Junior)
Shea continued to improve by capturing 17 top-five finishes as a junior to increase her career total to 41 as a Husker. The freestyle/backstroke specialist earned a second-place finish against UNO in the 100-yard free. She also set a career-best time in the 500 free at the 2011 Big 12 Championships, where she claimed a 22nd-place finish.

In the classroom, Shea earned second-team academic All-Big 12 honors along with a spot on the 2011 Big 12 Commissioner's Spring Honor Roll.

2009-10 (Sophomore)
Shea produced 14 top-five finishes as a sophomore, and established a trio of then-personal-best times in the 100-, 200- and 500-yard freestyles. Shea notched Nebraska's best time in the 200-yard free on the season, and added top-five times for the Huskers in both the 500 free and 1,000 free.

2008-09 (Freshman)
Shea put together an outstanding freshman season, as she earned 10 top-five finishes on the year, including three first-place showings. She finished first in the 200-yard backstroke against South Dakota State, the 200-yard freestyle against Kansas and the 50-yard backstroke against Nebraska-Omaha. Shea set two career-best times at the 2009 Big 12 Championships, when she finished 16th in the 200 back. She was among the top five on NU's performance list in three different events. Shea capped her year by being named Nebraska's Freshman of the Year.

Previous
Shea had a fantastic career at Mullen High School in Denver, Colo. She helped the team win the state title in 2005-06, while also winning three individual state championships during her career. She captured the 200 freestyle crown both her sophomore and senior seasons, and claimed the 100 freestyle title her junior season. Shea was an All-America selection in the 200 freestyle her senior year. An all-state pick, Shea was also a member of the National Honor Society as well as the Spanish Honor Society.

Personal
Caroline was born on Aug. 31, 1990, in Worcester, Mass. She is the daughter of Maria and Francis Shea, and has two sisters, Isabella and Frances. Caroline majored in forensic science at Nebraska and earned her bachelor's degree in December of 2012. She captured academic All-Big Ten honors as a senior in 2012. She was also a second-team academic All-Big 12 choice in 2011. She earned spots on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll in both the fall and spring semesters of 2011-12, and was a three-time member of the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll.
