2008-09 Season Outlook

Emily Burbach is one of three returning Nebraska divers who expect to improve on a successful 2007-08 season. Burbach, who was invited to walk-on last season, will use the experience she gained last year to become a consistent threat in the diving events.

2007-08 (Freshman)

Burbach helped the Nebraska divers become one of the team’s most consistent performers after they entered the 2007-08 season as one of the biggest question marks. Burbach was one of three freshmen divers to contribute to the team, and the trio, along with junior Courtney Jolly, gave Nebraska a reliable diving team that could be counted on to score high at every meet. Burbach had three third-place finishes on the year, including a season-best 248.25 three meter dive against IowaState.

Previous

Burbach led the Navigators during her senior season by finishing third on the one meter at the 2007 Class A state meet. During the regular season, she was the Heartland Conference one-meter runner-up.  A member of the Husker Stars Diving team, Burbach qualified for the 2007 Spring Region 6 Championships in the 16-18-year old division after finishing runner-up on both the one- and three-meter dives at the Husker Stars Diving Invitational in November of 2006. Burbach continued preparations to begin her collegiate career by competing in the 2007 Cornhusker State Games, where she placed second on the three meter in the 15-18-year old division.
