2008-09 Season Outlook

With six top-15 finishes at the Big 12 Championships already under her belt, senior Christina Yemm will look to add to that total this season. She has made steady improvements throughout her first three years at Nebraska, setting career bests in two events (200 backstroke and 400 IM) last season as a junior. Yemm thrives in the backstroke and the individual medley and also has experience in the butterfly, to make her one of NU’s top all-around returning swimmers.

2007-08 (Junior)

Yemm was one of Nebraska’s most consistent swimmers as a junior in 2007-08, earning five first-place finishes and 15 top-five finishes overall. Her best event was the 400 individual medley, where she earned three first-place finishes during the season and an 11th-place finish at the Big 12 Championships. She also had a team-leading time of 4:27.68 in the event. Yemm was a staple in the 200-yard breaststroke and 200-yard individual medley during the season. She finished 15th in both events at the Big 12 Championships. Yemm earned first-team academic All-Big 12 honors for the second consecutive season.

2006-07 (Sophomore)

Yemm had one of the Huskers' best all-around meets at the 2007 Big 12 Championships, improving her 200-yard individual medley performance by seven spots to reach a team-high 12th place, while finishing 11th in the 200-yard butterfly, a career-high placing at the conference meet. Yemm was also strong in the 100 fly, clocking NU's second-fastest time during the 2006-07 season with a season-best 58.43 in the preliminary race at the Big 12 Championships (23rd overall). Yemm had three runner-up finishes during the season, including a pair in the 200 IM in consecutive meets against IowaState and Missouri.

2005-06 (Freshman)

Yemm ended the season with a 14th-place finish in the 200-yard butterfly at the Big 12 Championships after earning five total victories during the regular season, the most of any freshman. Four wins came in the 100-yard butterfly, most notably a victory against Big 12 opponent IowaState. Against the Cyclones, Yemm unleashed a career-best time of 57.45. The remaining win came against Northern Iowa in the 100-yard backstroke, although her third speciality event was the 200-yard individual medley, where she finished second at Arkansas and third at Missouri.
